Discovery Specialist

Position: Fully Remote

Compensation: $9 USD/hour

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM–5:30 PM PST (10:30 AM–7:30 PM Colombia Time)

Position Overview

The Discovery Specialist will support our California habitability law cases during the Discovery phase of litigation. This role requires strong legal analysis, attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work independently within established legal procedures and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Draft and review Discovery documents, including Interrogatories, Requests for Admission, and Requests for Production.
• Review complaints and case information to identify relevant issues for Discovery.
• Analyze case documents and identify inconsistencies, missing information, and potential Discovery issues.
• Follow established templates, procedures, and quality standards.
• Organize and maintain case files and Discovery-related documentation.
• Manage multiple cases while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
• Collaborate with the legal team on Discovery-related tasks and case development.
• Assist with other legal and administrative tasks related to the Discovery process.

Requirements

• Law degree is required.
• English proficiency at a C1 level or higher is required.
• Previous experience working in a law firm or legal services environment.
• Strong legal reasoning, analytical, and research skills.
• Excellent written English and reading comprehension.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to understand and apply legal concepts and follow detailed instructions.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple cases, and consistently meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with U.S. litigation and Discovery procedures is highly preferred, but not required.
• Previous experience drafting or reviewing Interrogatories, Requests for Admission, and Requests for Production is a strong plus, but not mandatory.
