About UNSW

UNSW isn’t like other places you’ve worked. Yes, we’re a large organisation with a diverse and talented community; a community doing extraordinary things. Together, we are driven to be thoughtful, practical, and purposeful in all we do. If you want a career where you can thrive, be challenged and do meaningful work, you’re in the right place.

Why your role matters:

The Division of Societal Impact, Equity and Engagement (SIEE) supports a diverse and inclusive community while strengthening engagement with partners, alumni and donors to help create positive impact through education and research. Within SIEE, the Donor Experience team plays an important role in fostering meaningful relationships with UNSW's donor community through communications, engagement activities, events and initiatives.

Reporting to the Head of Development, Donor Experience, the Donor Experience Coordinator provides project, administrative and operational support across a diverse portfolio of donor engagement initiatives. Working closely with donors, stakeholders and colleagues across the University, you will support communications, events, fundraising appeals and donor experience activities that help strengthen relationships and recognise the impact of philanthropy at UNSW.

Your focus:

  • Provide administrative and project support across a range of donor experience initiatives and activities.
  • Coordinate logistics for donor meetings and events, including venue bookings, registrations, catering, stakeholder communications and on-site support.
  • Support the development and delivery of donor communications, newsletters, materials, and engagement campaigns.
  • Create and distribute EDMs using Mailchimp and assist with communication reporting and analytics.
  • Manage shared inboxes and respond to donor, stakeholder and general enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Process invoices, purchase orders and financial documentation associated with donor experience activities.
  • Maintain databases, filing systems, records and administrative processes to support effective team operations.
  • Assist with donor acknowledgement programs, stewardship initiatives and special projects as required.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing and customer-focused team culture.

Who you are: You are a highly organised and proactive coordinator who enjoys working across a diverse range of projects, communications and events. You bring strong administrative skills, excellent attention to detail and a collaborative approach, while taking ownership of your work and seeing tasks through to completion.

This role would suit someone with experience in administration, events, communications, fundraising, higher education or customer-focused environments who enjoys variety, building relationships and supporting meaningful initiatives that create impact.

You will bring the following skills and experience:

  • Diploma qualification, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience providing administrative, project or operational support within a complex organisation.
  • Experience supporting the delivery of events, stakeholder engagement activities or communications initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Experience creating and distributing EDMs using Mailchimp or similar email marketing platforms.
  • Experience processing invoices, purchase orders and maintaining accurate administrative records.
  • Strong digital literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft 365 and experience working with databases or online systems.
  • Experience using Canva or similar design platforms to create communications materials will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Previous experience within higher education, philanthropy, fundraising, or membership-based organisations will be highly regarded.
