About the Role
About the Company
We’re building a new energy drinks brand with a direct-to-consumer focus in the UK and US. Our products are on the way, and we’re preparing to launch our first online store. We’re looking for a hands-on Shopify developer to build and launch the storefront, then help improve it as the business grows. You’ll work closely with the brand and growth teams to create a polished, reliable shopping experience and a strong technical foundation for the launch.
About the Role
You’ll own the development and ongoing improvement of our Shopify store, from initial setup through launch and beyond. You’ll turn the brand identity into a fast, user-friendly storefront, configure the essential commerce tools, and make sure the site is ready to support marketing and sales across the UK and US. This is a full-time role. The initial launch is a priority, with the goal of getting the storefront live within three to four weeks of starting.
What You’ll Do
Build and launch a new Shopify storefront from the ground up. Translate the brand book and design direction into a polished, responsive website. Work with the graphic designer and other collaborators to deliver the site’s visual and functional requirements. Set up key store features, including subscriptions, product reviews, email capture, and promotional offers. Configure the store for UK and US customers, including the appropriate domain, currency, shipping, and market setup. Plan and maintain the relationship between the brand website and the company website, including domains, links, and redirects. Structure the store and its integrations so commerce and marketing data can flow into the company’s performance dashboard. Build and QA landing pages and storefront updates to support campaigns. Test the customer journey across mobile and desktop, from product discovery through checkout. Work with the Performance Marketer on analytics, tracking, pixels, and campaign landing pages. Document the store setup and key workflows so other team members can confidently manage day-to-day updates. Continue improving site performance, usability, and conversion after launch.
Must-Have Skills
Proven experience building and launching Shopify stores for direct-to-consumer brands. Strong hands-on Shopify skills, including theme setup and customization. Experience configuring Shopify apps and integrations for subscriptions, reviews, and email capture. Ability to turn brand guidelines and design files into a high-quality, responsive storefront. Understanding of ecommerce fundamentals, including product pages, collections, navigation, cart, and checkout. Experience setting up analytics and marketing tracking, or working closely with specialists who do. Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing before launch. Ability to manage priorities and deliver reliably against a tight timeline. Clear written and verbal communication in English, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team. Availability to work with some overlap with UK business hours.
Nice-to-Have
Experience with food, beverage, FMCG, supplements, or other consumable products. Experience launching Shopify stores in both the UK and US. Familiarity with Shopify Markets, international pricing, shipping, and tax settings. Experience supporting subscriptions or retention programs for repeat-purchase products. Familiarity with performance marketing, conversion rate optimization, and landing-page testing. Experience connecting Shopify data with dashboards, analytics platforms, or reporting tools. Experience with Amazon or other online marketplaces.
