Ecommerce Measurement & Tracking Consultant – Own the data behind decisions worth millions

Woolman
Posted 1 hour ago
🇫🇮Finland🏠Remote💰€500.0/mo📁Data & Analytics
Is this job info correct?

Location: Finland

If you're the kind of analyst who wants to own tracking end-to-end instead of patching it project by project, this is your next challenge.

Key points about the role at a glance

✅ Own Shopify tracking & analytics end-to-end at one of Europe's largest Shopify Platinum partners.

✅ Work hands-on with GTM, GA4, DataLayer, Shopify Custom Pixel and consent/GDPR setups.

✅ Guide clients – including several well-known international brands – from a vague need to a clear measurement plan.

✅ Join a flat, trust-based team based in Finland, with genuinely good work-life balance.

✅ Be part of a company with a strong, hands-on AI focus, not just AI on paper.

✅ Salary: From 4 500 €/month, depending on experience.

Why this role matters, and why it might be your next move

If you're a seasoned tracking or analytics specialist who wants real ownership of a service from day one, this is your kind of challenge.

Woolman's mission is simple: help ecommerce brands run and grow on Shopify without losing sight of what their data is telling them.

Check out more of our customer stories →

Right now, tracking is handled reactively by one developer, project by project. That's changing: we're building a documented reference architecture, turning maintenance into a productized, monthly-billed service, and bringing the more advanced layer – server-side tagging, Consent Mode v2, CAPI, first-party data – into active use.

This means you'll build something largely from scratch, rather than fit into an existing process, working alongside Lead Consultants and the developer who's carried tracking responsibility so far.

This role is ideal if you're at a point in your career where you want to:

  • Own a service end-to-end, instead of splitting your time across other people's priorities.
  • Move from ticket-based tracking work into a consultative role that shapes measurement plans.
  • Be part of a team that treats analytics as a real, billable service, not an afterthought.

What you'll do as our Ecommerce Measurement & Tracking Consultant

As Ecommerce Measurement & Tracking Consultant, you'll own Shopify measurement and tracking end-to-end. Here's what that looks like in practice:

  • Design, build and maintain analytics solutions (GTM, GA4, DataLayer, Custom Pixel, consent/GDPR) for Woolman's Shopify clients.
  • Turn reactive tracking maintenance into a productized, ongoing, monthly-billed service.
  • Audit client setups on your own initiative and bring improvement proposals before anyone asks.
  • Guide clients from an unclear need to a clear measurement plan, acting as their consultative sparring partner.
  • Handle analytics-related support requests and investigate changes in tracking data.
  • Bring the more advanced layer – server-side tagging, Consent Mode v2, CAPI, first-party data – into active use for clients.

What you'll bring

We're looking for a senior tracking specialist who's just as comfortable inside a GTM container as in a client conversation. You likely bring most of the following:

  • Concrete ecommerce tracking experience, ideally Shopify-specific (DataLayer, Custom Pixel, checkout limitations) – not just general web analytics.
  • Solid GTM + GA4 skills: containers, tags, triggers, variables, ecommerce/custom events, debugging.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Ecommerce background, ideally B2C, with experience working alongside platforms like Meta and Google Ads.
  • Comfortable working with theme code: Shopify Liquid, solid JavaScript and HTML.
  • Practical experience with consent/GDPR setups: Consent Mode, Shopify Customer Privacy API, CMP integrations.
  • Consultative communication: a proven ability to take a client from a vague need to a clear measurement plan.
  • Self-driven: you know what to prioritize and when to ask for help – Woolman is still young, so not everything has a ready-made process.

Above all, you're proactive and self-directed – someone who suggests improvements before being asked, and sees things through rather than passing them along.

What success looks like

In 1 month: You've audited a handful of client setups, made improvement proposals, and are already supporting analytics-related tickets. A documented reference architecture is taking shape, and new projects are being instrumented by default.

In 3 months: Reactive maintenance has become a productized audit + implementation + monitored ongoing service, already sold to a couple of clients.

In 12 months: Server-side tagging, Consent Mode v2 and CAPI are live for several clients, and tracking has moved fully out of a developer's side project and into your ownership.

The people you'll work with

You'll join Woolman's account teams and work closely with the developer who's carried tracking responsibility so far.

  • Your team: you'll pair with a Lead Consultant depending on the client, and the current tracking-owner developer will help you ramp up.
  • Culture: flat and trust-based – independence and initiative are expected from day one, and processes are still evolving as the company grows. There are no line managers checking in on you – if you own something, you're expected to flag the bad news early, not just the good.
  • Our work-life balance is important and the pace isn't frantic – but you're expected to see things through yourself rather than pass them along.

Benefits & salary

We value transparency. Here's what you can expect when you join Woolman – specific details may vary by location, and we'll go through them with you during the hiring process.

  • Work–life balance: Flexible hours, split roughly 65% client work and 35% your own development and team work, with the trust to manage your own schedule.
  • Tools & setup: You choose your own work tools and equipment.
  • Health & wellbeing: Occupational healthcare included from day one.
  • Location & remote work: Based in Finland, with full remote work possible.
  • Salary: From 4500 €/month, depending on experience.

About Woolman

Woolman is one of Europe's largest Shopify Platinum partners, operating across the Nordics, the UK and the Netherlands. Our home base is in Jyväskylä, with a team and legal entities spread across Finland, Sweden, the UK and the US.

At the moment, we help around 60 mid-size and larger ecommerce businesses build and grow on Shopify – through replatforming projects and ongoing development. Our own analytics product, Wayfinder Intelligence, started out solving one client's measurement problem and has grown into a 360° view for Shopify merchants.

We're a flat, trust-based organization – autonomy and initiative are the norm, not the exception, and we're still building out our processes as we grow. AI is a big part of how we work across the whole company.

Sound like your kind of challenge?

Great! First, let's make sure you have what it takes to succeed in the role:

  1. At least 3 years of ecommerce tracking experience, ideally Shopify-specific.
  2. Solid GTM + GA4 skills, including debugging and custom event setups.
  3. Consultative communication – comfortable leading a client from a vague need to a clear plan.
  4. Self-driven, comfortable operating without a fully defined process.
  5. Ecommerce background, ideally B2C.

Nice-to-haves: prior hands-on experience with server-side tagging, Meta CAPI or Consent Mode v2 – you'll build these into the role either way, but a head start helps.

If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.

How to apply

Apply by leaving your contact information and CV. We review applications on a rolling basis, with an initial deadline August 24, 2026 – early applications are encouraged.

For any questions, reach out to our recruitment partner Linda Nguyen at TalentBee for a confidential chat about the role: [email protected].

Recruitment process

After submitting your application, here's what to expect:

  1. An introductory call with our recruiter, Linda from TalentBee.
  2. Two interviews with the Woolman team – first remote, then possibly on-site – with a short, role-related task in between.
  3. A reference check, and if we believe it's a good match both ways, we'll give you an offer.

We look forward to your application and potentially welcoming you to Woolman!

Woolman started as a small team of Shopify specialists and has grown into one of Europe's largest Shopify Platinum partners – still building the same way: hands-on, close to the client, and always looking for a better way to do things.
