Role Description The EJU Preparation Tutor is responsible for delivering high-quality online lessons that prepare learners for the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU). This part-time remote role involves planning lesson materials, explaining EJU-related concepts clearly, and guiding learners through practice questions and mock tests. The tutor will assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust teaching strategies to meet individual learning goals. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate records of sessions, collaborating with the academic team on curriculum improvements, and ensuring a supportive, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of EJU content areas (Japanese language, reading comprehension, listening, academic Japanese, and relevant test formats) and experience teaching or tutoring for standardized exams.
• Proficiency in Japanese and English sufficient for clear instruction, explanation of exam strategies, and effective communication with diverse learners.
• Demonstrated ability to design structured lesson plans, use digital teaching tools, and facilitate engaging online classes.
• Skills in assessing learner needs, providing individualized feedback, and tracking progress over time.
• Excellent communication, time management, and organization skills, with a commitment to professionalism in a remote work setting.
• Previous experience in language education, exam preparation tutoring, or related teaching roles is highly beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Japanese Language, Linguistics, or a related field is preferred; relevant certifications in teaching Japanese or exam preparation are an advantage.
