Electrical Engineer / Designer

About the Role

We are looking for an Electrical Designer / Engineer with 3+ years of experience in MEP design for building projects.

This is a remote nearshore role supporting a U.S.-based architectural engineering firm with projects across retail, workplace, hospitality, restaurant, and commercial environments.

The ideal candidate has experience working in an engineering consulting environment and can independently support electrical design, prepare technical documentation, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and deliver high-quality work using Revit and AutoCAD.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as electrical designer / engineer on assigned MEP projects.
• Prepare electrical drawings, layouts, and technical documentation using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Support electrical system design for commercial, workplace, retail, hospitality, and restaurant projects.
• Perform electrical load calculations and equipment sizing based on NEC requirements.
• Read, interpret, and implement electrical design documentation and project requirements.
• Support design work in accordance with applicable codes and standards such as NEC, IECC, and ASHRAE 90.1.
• Perform or support MEPF site survey documentation and reports when required.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs.
• Coordinate with internal engineering teams, architects, owners, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
• Participate in remote coordination meetings and communicate clearly in English.
• Manage assigned tasks, deadlines, and deliverables with limited supervision.
• Help ensure electrical design work is accurate, consistent, and compliant with applicable codes and standards.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an Electrical Designer or Electrical Engineer within an engineering consulting environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering field.
• Experience with MEP design for building projects.
• Familiarity with electrical engineering codes and standards such as NEC, IECC, and ASHRAE 90.1.
• Ability to read, interpret, and implement electrical design documentation.
• Proficiency in both Revit and AutoCAD.
• Experience preparing technical documentation for engineering projects.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines independently.
• Professional and conversational level of English.
• Comfortable working remotely with U.S.-based teams.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.

Nice to Have

• EIT certification, PE license, or active progress toward professional licensure.
• Experience communicating directly with architects, owners, consultants, or other external stakeholders.
• Experience with fire alarm design.
• Experience working on retail, workplace, hospitality, restaurant, or commercial projects.
• Interest in growing into a discipline leadership role over time.
