Electro Acoustic Development Engineer
If electro acoustic development of hearing instruments throughout the spectra form concept to finial product seems interesting, and if having fun at work makes you smile, then read on! We may just have the job for you.
In the Device Hardware area, we are looking for an Electro Acoustic engineer to expand our team. You will work with product development using cutting-edge tools in well-equipped modern facilities with the goal of developing the best hardware for our hearing instruments.
Join the Hardware development team
As an electro acoustic developer, you would be part of an agile development team with responsibility for design and verification of the electroacoustic concepts. We focus on delivering solutions that enable us to deliver high-quality hearing instrument solutions, including in-depth transducer knowledge and development of new acoustic concepts for future products. We are depending on, and facilitating, in-depth knowledge about vibroacoustic behavior of subsystems and complete hearing aid solutions.
We participate in product development as well as maturation of concepts, before they are used in product development. Sometimes we participate in after launch activities as well.
Building, documenting and sharing knowledge is key to our success. Communication of key findings and results gained in is cross functional cooperation with mechanical and electronics developers in our Agile Release Trains are sessional.
Building innovative Electro Acoustic Solutions
In collaboration with skilled team members within your own Agile Release Train, you will work to innovate electro acoustic and mechanical solutions that elevate the experience of both end-users and customers. The excitement this group faces daily is the development of highly complex platforms, due to the high degree of functionality that hearing instruments offer. Furthermore, we focus on developing our platforms to fit multiple brands, adding to the complexity. The team works closely together with other professionals, i.e., audiologists and engineers specializing in amplifiers and embedded systems.
The biggest hardware challenge is to develop a platform that provides the needed acoustical gain and at the same time securing a good mechanical and acoustic feedback margin. Here a close cooperation with the mechanical engineers and the pre-production team is crucial for a good result.
You will be involved in:
- Acoustic systemdesign and Development
- Platform calibration/settings
- Design specifications
- Selection of components i.e. transducers – microphones, receivers/speakers
- Testing, verifying and documenting electro-acoustical performance of HW platforms
- Effort estimation and planning done in an agile framework
In the role of Electro Acoustic Developer, you will collaborate with skilled team members to advance the design of next-generation cutting-edge hearing instruments.
Apart from working together with motivated colleagues you will experience that we have great focus on your skills development, the department’s professional skills and in Work-life balance.
You can expect 1-5 travel days a year, visiting suppliers and our production site in Poland.
Qualifications
We expect you to hold a degree in Engineering, focusing specifically on electro acoustics. We anticipate that you possess strong qualifications in Sound Quality, Acoustic measurements, vibro-acoustics, and sound path design. Knowledge from working with electro acoustic or magnetic designs of hearing instruments or other smaller products such as cell phones, headsets or similar is an advantage.
You perform best in a vibrant atmosphere and enjoy partnering with experienced coworkers to make the most of your skills. We offer further development opportunities and believe Oticon is a good place to develop your career further.
As a person, you are proud of your profession, curious and a team player by heart. You have good communication skills and enjoy networking and navigating in a delivery driven, cross-functional organization with several parallel development tracs.
