About the role
Macmillan Education's English Language Teaching division is seeking a highly motivated, ELT Consultant to join our Swiss sales team, who will be promoting our print and digital products to institutions throughout Switzerland.
Role responsibilities:
- Drive Business Development by achieving agreed print and digital sales objectives within a defined region and identifying growth opportunities through effective territory and account management.
- Manage the full sales cycle with existing and prospective customers, applying Consultative Selling, Negotiation Skills, and Persuasion to develop business and secure sales opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular contact, sales visits, product presentations, training sessions, and relevant events, demonstrating a Customer-Focused approach and Communicates Effectively skills.
- Generate demand and increase market presence through targeted promotional activities, marketing campaigns, and lead-generation initiatives, consistently demonstrating Drives Results.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver solutions, resolve customer issues, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through a Customer-Focused and partnership-driven approach.
- Maintain accurate customer records, sales pipelines, forecasts, and account reviews, leveraging Business Insights to support reporting, planning, and informed decision-making.
- Gather, analyse, and communicate Market Intelligence on customer needs, market trends, competitor activity, opportunities, and threats to support business growth and strategic planning.
- Maintain strong Product and Service Knowledge across print and digital offerings, effectively positioning solutions and providing customer feedback to support continuous product improvement.
This role will be based at our Springer Nature office in Cham but with allowance for some home-based working alongside regular travel to visit customers. Benefits include a company car and a bonus scheme.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
- BA in Education or another recognised EFL/teaching qualification, with a minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience.
- Fluent English (C1/C2 level, written and spoken) and proficiency in German or French (minimum B1 level, written and spoken).
- Knowledge of the Swiss education system and/or educational publishing, with an interest in supporting educational excellence.
- Confident user of technology, able to leverage digital tools effectively in teaching and professional environments.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, team-oriented, and highly organised, with strong time management and a target- and solution-focused approach.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, supported by a clean driving licence and the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
