Embedded Software Engineer – C/C++

We're working with an exciting Bristol-based technology start-up developing cutting-edge medical devises company who is expanding their team. They're looking for an Embedded Software Engineer with strong C/C++ experience to join their growing engineering team and help develop the software behind their innovative medical devices.

This is a hands-on engineering position, working closely with electronics, optics and hardware engineers to develop reliable, high-performance software for complex physical systems.

What you'll be doing

• Developing low-level software in C/C++ for medical imaging systems.
• Building and optimising software for hardware control, data acquisition and image processing.
• Integrating software with cameras, sensors and other hardware components.
• Working on performance optimisation, memory management and system reliability.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to bring new technology to market.

What we're looking for

• Strong programming experience in C and/or C++.
• Experience developing low-level, embedded or systems software.
• An understanding of hardware/software integration.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an interest in working with complex engineering systems.
• Experience with Python, Rust, image processing or scientific instrumentation would be beneficial, but isn't essential.
