Shape the learning experience at Pepper Money
We’re looking for an experienced Employee Experience Lead – Learning & Development to join our HR team and shape a positive, inclusive and consistent learning experience for colleagues across Pepper Money.
This is a great opportunity for someone who combines strategic thinking with practical delivery and has experience developing learning and capability solutions within a complex organisation.
You’ll set and deliver our learning and development strategy and annual learning plan, translating colleague insight, business priorities, performance needs and regulatory requirements into practical solutions that help colleagues perform, grow their careers and succeed.
Working closely with HR Business Partners, senior leaders, managers, subject matter experts and external partners, you’ll ensure learning is connected with our wider talent, engagement, wellbeing and colleague experience priorities.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll lead our learning and development agenda, balancing strategic planning with the practical delivery of engaging and effective learning solutions.
You’ll:
- Develop and maintain our learning and development strategy, curriculum and annual learning plan.
- Partner with leaders, managers and HR colleagues to identify current and future capability needs.
- Use colleague feedback, performance data, regulatory requirements and business plans to shape learning priorities and investment decisions.
- Lead the design, delivery and review of inclusive learning programmes, including management development, colleague induction, role-specific learning and career development.
- Work with subject matter experts to create practical and engaging learning content that reflects how colleagues work.
- Build a culture of continuous learning through digital learning, coaching, peer learning, manager-led development and knowledge sharing.
- Lead major learning and colleague experience projects from initial scoping through to implementation and review.
- Maintain effective governance and standards for mandatory and regulatory learning, including FCA Training and Competence requirements, Knowledge and Competence requirements and SMCR learning plans.
- Work with Compliance, Risk, Legal, HR and business stakeholders to ensure regulatory learning is clear, relevant and easy to apply.
- Maintain accurate learning records and oversight, escalating risks, overdue activity and areas of non-compliance where required.
- Own the learning technology and process roadmap, working closely with the HR Systems Manager to provide a simple, accessible and reliable colleague experience.
- Explore how automation, digital tools and AI can responsibly improve learning accessibility, personalisation and efficiency.
- Manage learning providers, platform partners and other suppliers, ensuring they deliver quality, value and an effective service.
- Manage the learning budget and use data, feedback and insight to demonstrate outcomes and return on investment.
- Lead and develop any direct reports, creating an inclusive, supportive and high-performing team environment.
- Provide credible advice and constructive challenge on learning, capability and wider colleague experience activity.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for an experienced learning and development professional who can set a clear strategic direction while remaining close to delivery.
You’ll be comfortable working with leaders and colleagues across the business, using insight to understand capability needs and turning those needs into practical, accessible and engaging learning solutions.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Demonstrable experience of improving colleague experience through learning and development in a complex organisation.
- Strong knowledge of learning needs analysis, programme design, facilitation, evaluation and learning transfer.
- Experience developing and delivering management, career and colleague development programmes.
- A good understanding of regulatory learning, mandatory training, competence and governance within financial services or another regulated environment.
- Proven experience of partnering with senior leaders, managers and colleagues to identify capability gaps and deliver practical solutions.
- Confidence managing learning systems, digital learning, data and reporting.
- Experience managing significant projects, budgets and third-party suppliers.
- The ability to connect learning with talent, engagement, wellbeing and wider colleague experience activity.
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.
- Commercial awareness, sound judgement and excellent attention to detail.
- Confidence using HR and learning management systems. Experience of SAP SuccessFactors would be an advantage.
- A relevant learning and development, HR or professional qualification. CIPD membership or an equivalent professional learning qualification would also be advantageous.
What will make you successful
You’ll be colleague-focused, empathetic and practical, with the credibility to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders at different levels.
You’ll be curious and forward-thinking, able to see the bigger picture while maintaining the attention to detail required in a regulated environment. You’ll be proactive, organised and comfortable taking ownership, making sound decisions and adjusting priorities when business needs change.
Above all, you’ll care about creating learning experiences that make a meaningful difference to colleagues and help build the capability the business needs for the future.
Why this role?
This is an influential role with the opportunity to shape how colleagues learn, grow and develop across Pepper Money.
You’ll have the scope to modernise our learning offer, strengthen management capability and use technology, insight and innovation to create a positive and consistent colleague experience.
You’ll also work across the wider colleague experience agenda, connecting learning with talent, engagement, wellbeing and career development.
Some of the benefits we provide are:
- Competitive salaries and bonus schemes
- Hybrid home and office working with flexible working arrangements
- Opportunities to develop your career within the wider firm
- 25 days’ holiday and bank holidays, plus your birthday off
- Single Private Medical Insurance cover with Bupa

In return for your commitment, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your career in a dynamic environment, working alongside talented colleagues and an exceptional leadership team. If you want to help shape how our colleagues learn, develop and succeed, then we’d love to hear from you.
