Location: Egg Harbor Township, NJ (field work across our New Jersey service territory)
Type: Full-time
Pay: $35-45 per hour, based on experience and credentials
Certification: BPI Building Analyst Professional (BA-P) required
GreenLife Energy Solutions is hiring a full-time, BPI-certified Energy Auditor to perform in-home energy audits for New Jersey's income-qualified programs, including NJ Comfort Partners and utility IQ weatherization / Whole Home Energy Assessment work (ACE, SJG, PSE&G, NJNG, JCP&L and Elizabethtown Gas, as assigned). This is hands-on field work, not a desk job, and you will be GreenLife's first technical face in the home.
What you'll do
Audit the home
- Complete full residential audits: attics, basements, crawlspaces, mechanical areas and the building envelope.
- Run diagnostics to program standards: blower door, CAZ / combustion safety, CO, gas-leak and pressure testing.
- Recommend cost-effective measures (insulation, air sealing, ductwork, HVAC, appliances, thermostats) within program spending and health-and-safety rules.
- Install direct-install measures (LEDs, aerators, showerheads, pipe wrap, smart strips) and meter appliances for replacement.
- Flag health-and-safety barriers (moisture/mold, unvented appliances, unsafe combustion) and stop or limit work when required.
Educate the customer
- Explain findings, recommendations and next steps in plain language.
- Build a simple household action plan and make assistance referrals (USF, Lifeline, NJ SHARES, HEAP, 211).
- Provide rate counseling where the program requires it (e.g., JCP&L).
- Represent GreenLife and the utility professionally, with ID badge visible at all times.
Document and close the loop
- Enter jobs, readings, photos and forms promptly and accurately in Etrack / ANB and GreenLife systems.
- Write clear work scopes for install crews; support pre- and post-install inspections.
- Keep your vehicle, direct-install stock and calibrated test equipment ready every day.
What we require
- Current BPI Building Analyst Professional (BA-P) certification (or higher, such as BPI Energy Auditor).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Working knowledge of blower door and combustion analyzer testing.
- Valid NJ driver's license and acceptable driving record; daily travel within assigned territory.
- Able to pass a background check, as required for utility program work.
- Comfortable with tablets, computers and data entry across multiple platforms.
- Able to enter attics and crawlspaces, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lb, and work full days in heat, cold and dust.
- Strong customer service skills and a commitment to safety and accurate documentation.
Preferred
- BPI Envelope Professional, Healthy Home Evaluator, Infiltration & Duct Leakage or Quality Control Inspector (QCI).
- 1+ year in residential energy auditing, weatherization, HVAC or construction.
- Experience with NJ Comfort Partners, WAP or other utility income-qualified programs.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
Benefits
- $35-$45/hour based on experience and credentials
- 401(k) with 100% match up to 6% of gross pay
- Generous PTO and paid holidays
- Health insurance reimbursement
- Company uniforms
- Overtime opportunities
- Paid training toward advanced BPI credentials (QCI) and senior auditor / quality roles
