Enterprise Account Director - MarTech
The opportunity
My client is growing steadily and is looking for an experienced Account Director to take ownership of a portfolio of key enterprise clients, working out of their Amsterdam HQ. This is a relationship-first role: you'll be stepping in to take over some of the company's biggest accounts — think brands on the scale of Unilever, Odido, and Vattenfall — following the departure of a long-standing team member.
You'll be the main point of contact for your clients and the connective tissue between them and the internal delivery team. Reporting to the CCO, your focus will be on deepening existing relationships, driving upsell and cross-sell, and making sure clients get real, measurable value out of the platform.
About my client
My client runs a leading European marketing measurement (MMM) SaaS platform that helps brands understand the real value of their media budget — and how to spend it more efficiently. The platform pulls together data on marketing spend, channels, and revenue, models it, and layers in external factors that influence performance. The result: clear guidance on which campaigns are working, where to invest next, and how to forecast and allocate budget for the best return. Well-known names like Deutsche Telekom Group, Vattenfall, and PostNL rely on it to stay in control of their media investment. The company only sells to enterprise clients.
Now around 40 people strong, with roughly €6M in ARR, my client recently turned profitable for the first time and has become more efficient on the product side — meaning the team can now do more with fewer people, split between recurring platform revenue and a smaller consultancy layer (data scientists and implementation consultants who help clients get set up).
Culture and values
Think social start-up energy with scale-up stability. It's an open, feedback-friendly team that values collaboration over ego — people here work hard and support one another, balancing IQ with EQ. With 15+ nationalities on board, the team is proud of its diversity and its shared drive toward ambitious targets.
Their values shape how they work and decide, day to day: Innovative, Data-Driven, Transparent, Ambitious, Collaborative.
What you'll be doing
Working alongside a Lead Data Scientist and an Implementation Consultant on your Account Team, you'll:
- Own the relationship with a portfolio of major enterprise clients, taking over accounts currently in transition and building trust from day one.
- Go beyond explaining the platform — actively advise clients on what to do with the results: which campaigns to run, where to shift budget, and how to act on the data in front of them.
- Help clients think through how they distribute and allocate marketing budget across channels and campaigns, acting as a strategic sounding board, not just an account handler.
- Coordinate with data science and implementation resources around client priorities to keep delivery on track.
- Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder organisations — aligning Marketing, Finance, and Data teams — and know which questions to ask to get to the real business need.
- Identify and drive upsell and cross-sell opportunities within your existing portfolio, including bringing in consultancy support where it adds value.
- Feed client insights and market trends back into the business to help shape the product and go-to-market approach.
What you bring
You fit one of these two profiles:
- You've worked as an Account Manager or Account Director at a marketing or media agency, you understand how agencies operate, and you're familiar with marketing mix modeling (MMM) — even at a foundational level — and you're looking to make the move into SaaS; or
- You come from a SaaS MarTech company in a similar account management or client-facing role.
Beyond that, you'll need:
- A genuine sense of ownership — you don't just manage the relationship, you help clients get real value and make better decisions with it.
- Experience managing complex stakeholders and multi-layered organisations — enterprise-specific experience is not required, as long as you're comfortable navigating that kind of complexity.
- Familiarity with how marketing budgets get planned and distributed within a marketing team, and how campaign performance gets evaluated.
- Comfort partnering with Data Scientists to turn technical insight into strategic, actionable advice for clients.
- Strong stakeholder management skills — knowing how to ask the right questions and think strategically alongside your client.
- A proactive, self-starting mindset suited to a flat, open organisation.
Note: prior SaaS experience and enterprise-account experience are both a plus, not a requirement — what matters most is your agency background, your understanding of marketing budgets and MMM, and your ability to manage complex client relationships.
