The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to join a growing UK Digital Strategy and Enterprise Architecture practice within a leading global technology and digital transformation consultancy.
This is a senior strategic appointment, offering the opportunity to shape enterprise-wide technology strategies and lead complex transformation programmes for major UK organisations.
You will work closely with senior business and technology stakeholders, including CIOs, CTOs and other C-suite executives, to ensure technology investments support wider business objectives. You will take a holistic view of enterprise technology landscapes, spanning applications, data, infrastructure and business capabilities, defining future-state architectures and practical roadmaps for transformation.
This is not a traditional Solutions Architect position. We are looking for someone with genuine enterprise-wide architectural experience who can combine strategic vision, technical understanding and commercial awareness.
Define and lead enterprise architecture strategies, including current-state assessments, target-state designs and transformation roadmaps.
Assess complex enterprise technology environments, identifying opportunities for modernisation, simplification, optimisation and cost reduction.
Lead application portfolio rationalisation, developing strategies to retain, replatform, refactor or retire legacy systems.
Establish and oversee architecture governance frameworks, including Architecture Review Boards (ARBs), standards and architectural principles.
Ensure architecture strategies align with relevant regulatory, security and compliance requirements, including UK GDPR, DORA and Cyber Essentials Plus.
Act as a senior architectural advisor to C-suite stakeholders, translating complex technical considerations into clear business and commercial recommendations.
Support pre-sales activities, leading architectural input into proposals, RFPs, solution scoping and client presentations.
Work collaboratively with Data, AI and Cloud teams to ensure solutions align with the wider enterprise architecture.
Contribute to thought leadership, developing architectural frameworks, whitepapers and strategic recommendations around enterprise transformation and modernisation.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
12+ years' experience within IT, including at least 5 years in a dedicated Enterprise Architect position.
Experience working within a global technology consultancy or large-scale enterprise environment.
Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, ideally TOGAF 10, Zachman or SAFe.
Proven experience assessing and rationalising complex application portfolios and legacy technology estates.
Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, API-led architectures and hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
Broad architectural knowledge across AWS, Azure and/or GCP.
Experience establishing architecture governance, standards and review processes.
The ability to engage and influence senior business and technology stakeholders.
Strong commercial awareness, with experience supporting client engagements, bids and pre-sales activities.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex architectural concepts through clear diagrams, roadmaps and executive-level presentations.
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related technical discipline.
TOGAF certification and/or relevant AWS or Azure professional certifications would be advantageous.
Must have existing UK right to work. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Immediate availability or a notice period of no more than four weeks is strongly preferred.
Hybrid working arrangement, with London as the primary location and travel to UK client sites as required.
Interested? If you are an established Enterprise Architect looking for a senior strategic role where you can influence enterprise-wide transformation and work directly with executive stakeholders, we would be keen to hear from you.
