About CDMS

CDMS has helped California industrial and commercial facilities stay compliant for more than 35 years. Our consultants go to client sites across the Bay Area: manufacturers, metal finishers, warehouses and fleet operations. They run each client's compliance program end to end.

The Role

We are hiring an environmental (EHS) compliance consultant for our Pleasanton office who wants to grow into a Senior Project Manager role within about a year. Our Senior Project Managers lead our largest multi-facility clients.

What You Will Do

  • Visit client facilities to run compliance audits, inspections and sampling (air, stormwater, soil and waste).
  • Prepare hazardous materials business plans in CERS, hazardous waste programs, stormwater plans (SWPPP), spill plans (SPCC) and air permit documents.
  • Work with CUPAs (often the local fire department), DTSC, Air Districts and Water Boards on behalf of clients.
  • Train client employees in groups of 10 to 40.
  • Manage your own client projects, schedules and budgets with support from a Senior Project Manager.

What You Bring

  • 3 or more years of hands-on field work in environmental consulting, remediation or Phase I/II, hazardous waste, or plant EHS.
  • A bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, chemistry or a related field.
  • Comfort working on your own at client sites and explaining requirements to plant managers.
  • A valid California driver's license. You live within about 45 minutes of Pleasanton and work from our office Mondays and Fridays.
  • Nice to have: 40-hour HAZWOPER, CHMM or REA, Spanish.

Pay and Benefits

  • $90,000 to $125,000 base, depending on experience.
  • Medical and dental insurance, 401(k) plan (Roth and non-Roth options) with company match, and HSA.
  • Hybrid schedule after onboarding, with in-office days on Mondays and Fridays.
  • Support for certifications and continued education.

CDMS is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
