Support the next big thing in critical communications – national impact

The Senior Program Officer will be the delivery engine across Broadband and Public Safety Mobile Broadband (PSMB), connecting the moving parts and keeping work on track. You'll coordinate stakeholders, manage risks and dependencies, and turn priorities into practical delivery outcomes.

About the team

This role sits within the Broadband & PSMB team in the NSW Telco Authority.

The Broadband and PSMB team at NSW Telco Authority is helping shape the next generation of communications for emergency services, giving frontline responders access to secure, reliable and resilient mobile broadband capability. Working across state governments, emergency services and industry, the team is turning operational needs into the business case, requirements, procurement and delivery approach that will shape public safety communications across NSW for years to come.

Come and work on something that genuinely matters. PSMB is a rare opportunity to take your government experience and apply it to a nationally significant program, helping build the communications capability our emergency services will rely on when it matters most.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Prepare and coordinate briefing notes, executive correspondence, approvals and other documentation, ensuring the right governance and approval pathways are followed.
  • Manage purchasing, procurement and supplier processes, including purchase orders, invoices, expenditure tracking and contract administration.
  • Navigate NSW Government systems, processes and governance requirements to keep program activities moving.
  • Coordinate program reporting, risks, issues, actions, decisions and milestones, ensuring information is accurate and ready for governance and executive forums.
  • Support financial and resource management, including budget tracking, forecasting and reporting.
  • Work across the PSMB and Broadband teams, stakeholders and corporate functions to coordinate actions, progress approvals and keep priorities on track.

To be successful in this role you will

  • Have strong working knowledge of NSW Government systems, processes, governance and approval pathways.
  • Have experience preparing briefing notes, executive correspondence, approvals and program documentation.
  • Understand government purchasing, procurement, invoicing and contract administration processes.
  • Can confidently manage budgets, reporting, risks, issues, actions and competing priorities.
  • Are highly organised, proactive and able to work across multiple teams and stakeholders to keep delivery moving.
  • Previous experience working on a Tier 1 program within NSW Government will be highly regarded, given the scale, complexity and delivery environment is significantly different to business-as-usual operations.
