About Us
DealRoom is the M&A platform corporate development teams run their deals on. We built it bootstrapped, with no outside investors. Today, 280+ companies use it.
M&A Science is our media and education arm. It runs the M&A Science podcast, live events, and the Buyer-Led M&A methodology.
We're a small, ambitious team that moves quickly, values initiative, and believes great work comes from people who take ownership and work well together. Our values are simple: Own It. Deliver the Wow. Be Kind and Direct.
The Role
We're looking for a resourceful, relationship-driven person to help expand our founder and CEO's presence in the M&A community while keeping his schedule and day-to-day priorities organized.
This is a unique opportunity to work directly with a founder, build relationships with industry leaders, and help bring meaningful conversations and events to life.
Much of your work will focus on media and events: pitching Kison to conferences and podcasts, connecting with prospective guests for M&A Science, and helping produce live recordings and events.
You'll also provide executive support, managing his calendar, travel, and scheduling, along with helping keep our Boston office running smoothly.
It's a varied role that requires organization, good judgment, persistence, and comfort navigating changing priorities. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership, build relationships, and make a visible impact across several areas of the business.
We also use AI tools to streamline research, scheduling, and administrative work so you can focus more of your time on the relationships and experiences that make this role interesting.
What You'll Own
Media and Stages | 35%
Identify and pitch opportunities for Kison to speak at conferences, appear on podcasts, and participate in industry media. Help build his speaking calendar 6–9 months out.
Research and connect with high-priority guests for the M&A Science podcast, working with Kison to develop thoughtful outreach and build relationships that lead to bookings.
Events | 25%
Coordinate live podcast recordings, events in our Boston office, and customer visit days from planning through execution. You'll manage invitations, venues, catering, run of show, and follow-up, helping create an excellent experience for guests and attendees.
Executive Support | 25%
Manage Kison's calendar across Chicago and Boston, coordinate travel, schedule occasional personal appointments, and help organize his time around the company's priorities.
You'll be a trusted partner in keeping things organized, anticipating scheduling needs, and communicating when priorities need to shift.
Boston Office | 15%
Provide day-to-day office support, including managing packages, maintaining supplies, and helping ensure the office is organized and ready for employees and visitors.
Media and events will be the primary focus when priorities compete. You'll work alongside our existing podcast producer, who manages the regular guest pipeline, while you focus on high-priority opportunities that benefit from additional outreach and relationship-building.
Your First 90 Days
Your first three months will focus on building relationships, learning the business, and establishing a strong foundation for success.
By day 90, you'll be working toward:
Independently managing Kison's calendar, travel, and scheduling needs
Building a target list of 30+ conferences, podcasts, and media outlets, with outreach underway to at least 10
Developing a pipeline of speaking and guest opportunities for the first half of 2027, with a goal of securing 3 confirmed appearances
Pitching a live podcast event to an outside organizer
Coordinating at least one Boston office event or customer visit day
Building relationships with high-priority podcast guests, with a goal of securing 2 bookings
Establishing a reliable daily routine for Boston office support
Success in this role means creating momentum, building dependable systems, and demonstrating the judgment and follow-through needed to manage multiple priorities.
Who You Are
You have 2–4 years of experience in booking, PR, event production, talent relations, executive support, or a related field.
You're someone who enjoys making connections, bringing people together, and turning ideas into reality. You're organized, proactive, and comfortable taking initiative without needing every step mapped out.
You know how to be persistent without being pushy, communicate clearly, and adapt when plans change. You're also comfortable asking questions, offering ideas, and speaking up when priorities need clarification.
Must-haves:
Strong follow-through and the ability to manage multiple conversations, commitments, and deadlines
Clear, compelling written communication, particularly when reaching out to new contacts
Experience coordinating events, productions, or projects involving guests, vendors, and timelines
Good judgment, discretion, and comfort handling confidential information
Familiarity with AI tools and an interest in using them to work more effectively

Experience booking podcast guests or speakers

Experience at a startup or small team where you took on a variety of responsibilities
