About Invisix
Semiconductor manufacturers can't build what they can't measure. Invisix Measuring Systems is a fast-growing scale-up in the high-tech industry, developing next-generation metrology solutions for the semiconductor sector. We work at the intersection of optics, software, and data.
We're a small team, but the depth of knowledge inside Invisix is anything but small. Our culture is professional and fast-paced, with short communication lines and a strong sense of shared purpose. Everyone here is committed, and everyone knows their work directly contributes to something bigger.
The Role
We're looking for an Experimental Physicist to build and improve the next-generation soft X-ray (SXR) source at the core of our metrology equipment.
You'll work in our lab with experienced colleagues who know this technology inside out. You take setups from first assembly to stable operation, find out what limits their performance, and turn what you learn into specifications for our metrology equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Build, align and commission the optical and vacuum systems of our test bench, and bring them into stable operation
Set up and run diagnostics to characterize the SXR light and the optical systems that generate it
Measure and optimize the performance of the SXR source, and turn what you learn into specifications for our metrology equipment
Solve hardware issues, find practical solutions and test new ideas quickly
Control experiments and analyze the data, working with detectors, motion control and data acquisition
Work with our experienced physicists and engineers, and take on adjacent responsibilities as the team grows, such as test bench design or contacts with suppliers
Is this you?
PhD in physics, optics, photonics, electrical engineering or a related field, or an MSc in one of these fields with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a high-tech environment
A strong grasp of the physics, so an unexpected result becomes a clue rather than a roadblock, and a safe, structured way of working in the lab, independently and as part of a team
Hands-on experience with high-power or ultrafast laser systems and optical setups, in academia or industry
Experience with optical measurement and diagnostics, such as spectroscopy, imaging, beam profiling, pulse characterization or power measurement
Experience with vacuum systems and lab instrumentation, such as detectors, motion control and data acquisition
Programming skills for data analysis or instrument control, for example in Python, MATLAB or LabVIEW
Good spoken and written English
Active use of AI tooling in your daily work (data analysis, instrument control scripts, documentation) to boost efficiency
Nice to have
Experience with SXR or XUV optics and detection
Experience in laser or optical engineering
Experience with opto-mechanical or in-vacuum design
Experience with EUV or SXR metrology for semiconductors
What We Offer
A hands-on role in our lab where your work directly shapes the product, with experienced physicists and engineers to learn from every day
Competitive salary and benefits, including an Employee Share Ownership Plan
A learning and development budget to support your growth
Flexible working arrangements, and room to grow into adjacent responsibilities as the team scales
Interested?
If this sounds like your kind of challenge, we'd like to hear from you, even if you only recognize yourself in part of this description. Submit your resume, and let's find out together if there's a match.
If this isn't quite the right position for you but you're still interested in Invisix, reach out to us at hr@invisix.nl.
Diversity & Inclusion
We're committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, where ideas and individuals flourish. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and judge candidates on merit and potential contribution, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, or other identity characteristics. What we're looking for is talent with integrity, a collaborative mindset, and a drive to make an impact.
