Your Mission As a Model Trains Expert , your mission is to bring your specialist model trains expertise to the curation of high-quality, compelling auctions that attract engaged collectors and trusted sellers. Your knowledge of brands, rarity, condition, valuation, and collector expectations is central to ensuring each lot is relevant, accurately assessed, and commercially strong. By combining deep category expertise with sound commercial judgement, you play a key role in growing the Model Trains category, maintaining transparency, and strengthening trust within the collector community. What You’ll Do Evaluate and arrange model train lots submitted by users, ensuring each auction features attractive and relevant listings Create compelling weekly lot selections using your expertise and professional network Review titles, descriptions, and images to assess quality and provide accurate estimated values Safeguard transparent and fair transactions through consistent expert evaluation Communicate rejections professionally and diplomatically, maintaining strong seller relationships Collaborate with Sales to attract new sellers and diversify the range and quality of lots Partner with Marketing to increase bidder engagement and visibility for your auctions What You’ll Bring Expert knowledge in Model Trains Strong commercial acumen and documented commercial experience An eye for trade and value within the collectibles market Excellent communication skills, with the ability to act diplomatically in user disputes A network of potential sellers and experts within your field Good computer skills and confidence working with digital tools Good command of English, written and spoken Where You’ll Be This is a 100% remote role that can be based in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, or the United Kingdom. Most Catawikians operate in a hybrid setup, combining office-based and remote work, with a minimum of two days per week in the office, unless a role is explicitly stated as fully remote or fully office-based.
