Position Summary

Provide individualized, personal finance and estate counseling via case management to help medical students with current and future financial planning.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver a comprehensive program covering such areas and topics as financial literacy and financing their education, loan requirements, private loan understanding and considerations, planning for loan repayment and other financial expenses during residency, and wealth management through workshops, digital content, and an integrated curriculum tailored to medical students.
  • Develop, maintain, and promote accessible resources while collaborating with the offices of financial aid and student affairs; student leaders, and external experts.
  • Monitor student financial wellness through needs assessments, referrals, feedback, and outcome evaluations to improve services and student success while ensuring accreditation compliance.
  • Track and analyze student debt metrics, prepare semester reports for college leadership, and support continuous improvement of financial planning initiatives for medical students.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Any one or combination totaling four (4) years (48 months) from the categories below:
  1. college coursework comparable to that in a field related to financial analysis/planning such as accounting, business administration, economics, finance, statistics, or a closely related field

    • 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
    • Associate Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen (18) months
    • 90-semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
    • Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
    • Master’s Degree equals four (4) years (48 months)
  2. work experience in developing financial or economic analyses, research designs, strategic plans, or data models.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Private or personal finance work experience, either with clients or teaching personal finance in higher education.

2. Work with graduate or professional students or wealth management clients.
