US Bullnosing Inc. is a custom porcelain paver, tile and stone fabricator based in Oakland Park, Florida, serving residential and commercial projects across South Florida and beyond. Our work includes bullnose edge finishing, mitered and waterfall edges, pool coping, step wraps and anti-slip stair treads, drain and skimmer cutouts, cut-to-size and rectification, waterjet cutting, and custom mosaics and medallions.
Position Overview:
This is a remote position supporting our Oakland Park fabrication facility. Working from customer drawings, site measurements and photos, the Specialist designs and details the shop drawings, mosaics, waterjet cut files and assembly tray layouts our production team cuts from, and prepares accurate, timely estimates and quotes.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Drafting
- Create and revise 2D/3D AutoCAD drawings for coping, step wraps, stair treads, mitered/waterfall edges and cutouts.
- Convert plans, field measurements, digital templating files (DXF) and sketches into dimensioned shop drawings.
- Lay out coping for radius and freeform pools: segment curves, set joint spacing and miter angles, number each piece.
- Model mitered and waterfall assemblies in 3D to verify fit, angles and visible faces before fabrication.
- Prepare clear approval drawings for customers and track revisions through final sign-off.
- Share the design workload with our in-house designer to keep drawing turnaround short.
- Develop custom mosaics, medallions, borders and logos from customer concepts, photos and artwork.
- Convert images and artwork into clean, correctly scaled vector geometry ready for waterjet cutting.
- Produce color/material maps and mockups so customers can see and approve the design before cutting.
- Break designs into numbered pieces with grout-joint allowances and create assembly tray layouts for the shop.
- Review drawings, job requests and customer specifications and prepare accurate quotes for custom fabrication work.
- Perform takeoffs of linear and square footage, piece counts, cutouts and edge details, plus machine time and labor.
- Price from the company’s master price list and customer classification; flag non-standard work for review.
- Work with operations and sales to finalize scope and pricing, and keep a log of quotes, revisions and approvals.
- Prepare production-ready waterjet cut files with clean geometry, efficient nesting and toolpaths/G-code as needed.
- Design for manufacturability: allow for kerf, minimum piece size and inside radii so parts cut cleanly.
- Label every file clearly (job, material, thickness, edge detail, quantity) so the shop can cut without follow-up.
- Confirm files with the Plant Manager and operators before cutting, and revise them the same day when issues arise.
- Maintain an organized digital library of standard profiles, patterns, parts and project templates.
