Family Haven is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a community of happy, healthy individuals and families through education and the prevention and treatment of child abuse and trauma. We provide family support programs and outpatient mental health services from our locations in Orem and Lehi.
We are looking for a Family Educator to join our Education Team. Family Educators are responsible for providing engaging education to students, parents, and families throughout our service area. The position focuses primarily on prevention education in schools and communities, with opportunities to provide parenting education through individual and group settings. Family Educators build strong relationships with schools, families, and community partners while helping strengthen family relationships, promote safety, and support healthy development.
What You'll Do
- Deliver PROTECT and other approved prevention education curricula to elementary and secondary students in schools and community settings.
- Coordinate school presentations and build strong relationships with teachers, school personnel, families, and community partners.
- Provide parenting education and support through individual and group settings as needed.
- Complete program documentation, evaluations, and reporting and assist with curriculum updates and program improvement.
- Participate in outreach, community events, team meetings, and training while representing Family Haven professionally.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Development, Education, or a related field.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience or ability in teaching, group facilitation, or community education.
- Comfort working with families and sensitive topics, with strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout Family Haven’s service area; mileage is reimbursed. Occasional evening classes or community events are required.
Preferred:
- Spanish language proficiency.
- Experience working with children, families, or schools.
- Experience with parenting or prevention education.
