Job Description
About the Client
Our client is a growing international business operating within the private aviation sector. Working with clients and partners across global markets, the business operates through a multi-entity structure and provides a dynamic, fast-paced environment with exposure to a broad range of financial, commercial, and operational activities.
With a close-knit international team and ambitious plans for continued growth, they are looking for someone who can become an integral part of the business and develop with the organisation over the longer term.
Role Overview
The role will support the day-to-day finance requirements of a growing international aviation group.
External accountants will continue to maintain the formal bookkeeping records. The successful candidate will coordinate the information provided to them, review completed accounting records, and maintain the internal schedules, reporting, and financial information required by management.
This is a broad role within a small team and requires someone who is comfortable taking ownership of tasks, following up with colleagues and advisers, and working independently within a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and coordinate the monthly financial information provided to external accountants.
Review bookkeeping completed in Xero and follow up on any errors, omissions or outstanding items.
Maintain complete and accurate financial records across the group, including invoices, receipts and supporting documentation.
Assist with supplier invoices, payment preparation and payroll administration.
Maintain intercompany schedules, reconciliations, management charges, interest calculations and transfer pricing workings.
Prepare monthly management information and support regular financial reporting.
Maintain rolling budgets, cash flow forecasts and budget-versus-actual reporting.
Track expenditure across group entities and identify overspending or upcoming cash requirements.
Improve cost tracking across sales and brand positioning expenditure, aircraft advertising and other project-specific costs.
Support the accounting and reporting requirements of the group’s expanding multi-entity structure and new ventures.
Liaise with external accountants, auditors and tax advisers and prepare requested schedules and supporting documentation.
Assist with bank, KYC and compliance information requests.
Support occasional aircraft operating-cost analyses, client presentations and transaction-related financial work.
Follow up on missing invoices, approvals and information, taking ownership of assigned tasks through to completion.
Provide general ad hoc finance and administrative support where required.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will ideally be:
Organised, accurate and dependable, with strong attention to detail.
Proactive and comfortable working independently in a remote role.
Strong in Excel, with a sound understanding of accounting principles.
Experienced in reconciliations, intercompany accounts and management reporting.
Experienced with Xero, although this is advantageous rather than essential.
Comfortable working with external accountants and advisers; previous experience within an international group would be advantageous.
Comfortable handling confidential financial and commercial information.
Flexible and willing to take on a broad range of responsibilities within a small team.
Keen to develop professionally and grow with the business over the longer term.
