Exciting opportunity to join Finance division in the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport This is a Clerk Grade 11/12 with a salary range of $154,231 - $178,369 per annum plus superannuation Temporary role (up to 8 months) based in Sydney CBD, flexible/hybrid working arrangements may be available within business operational needs including other locations negotiable. A talent pool may be created from this recruitment action for roles that may become available over the next 18 months About The Role The role leads and manages critical activities that support budgeting and financial management for the Department. The Finance Team has an important role in driving a budget that directs funding allocations to the Department’s strategic priorities and target outcomes. The role also designs, implements and evaluates innovative solutions that meet continuous improvement targets and informs strategic planning in corporate services. In the lead up to the 2027 NSW State Election, the role will also play a key role in coordinating the Department's response to Parliamentary Budget Office (PBO) requests, including oversight of costings, financial analysis, stakeholder engagement and portfolio-wide coordination to ensure responses are delivered within strict timeframes and confidentiality requirements. The role maintains and implements effective support and training strategies for financial management in corporate business divisions, and engages, mentors and inspires team members in the delivery of accurate, reliable and targeted outcomes that meet customer expectations and the Directorate’s service delivery standards. About You We are looking for someone with the following: Demonstratedexperience in public sector budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and analysis, with a strong understanding of NSW Government financial and Treasury requirements. Proven ability to provide strategic financial advice to senior executives and coordinate complex budget, funding and expenditure review processes across multiple stakeholders. Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and deliver high-quality results in a complex and fast-paced environment.
