Over the past four years, the organization has led more than 15 projects funded by the European Union, foreign embassies and other international institutions, and today reaches over 30 million people monthly through its social media channels. Its team combines social impact work with careful, accountable financial management. Candidates joining KızBaşına will contribute to impactful, mission-driven work that supports social change and safer communities.
Role Description: The Finance Officer role is a part-time, hybrid position based in Ankara, responsible for the financial management of KızBaşına's EU-funded projects and the organization's expense tracking. The role covers procurement in line with donor rules, documentation of all purchases, line-by-line budget monitoring and preparation of donor financial reports. The Finance Officer will also reconcile organizational expenses and ensure spending remains transparent and within approved limits. Working closely with project leads and management, the Finance Officer will flag financial risks early and communicate financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project procurement in line with donor rules, including collecting and comparing supplier quotations
- Process project purchases through the approved workflow, making sure each is supported by a PO, invoice and proof of delivery
- Monitor project budgets line by line and flag any risk of overspending early
- Prepare periodic financial reports for donors, reconciled with expense logs and bank statements
- Track organizational expenses and reconcile expense and subscription logs
- Keep an organized archive of all financial documents for audits and spot checks
Who Can Apply:
- Graduates in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related field
- Experience in NGO or donor-funded project finance (EU, UN or similar) is a strong advantage
- Interest in gender equality and social impact work is a plus
Required Skills:
- Solid knowledge of budgeting, expense tracking and financial reporting
- Familiarity with donor procurement and reporting requirements (EU, UN or similar)
- Knowledge of Turkish payroll and tax regulations
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills; experience with accounting software
- Fluent in Turkish; good command of English for donor reporting
