About the role

The Finance Transformation & Projects Advisor will play a key role in driving the transformation agenda across Refining, Biofuels & Hydrogen Finance.

This role will turn strategic priorities into action, supporting transformation initiatives, new operating models, process improvements and new ways of working. Success will require a strong transformation attitude, strategic thinking, a willing to take action approach and the ability to build positive relationships across the organisation.

What you will deliver

• Drive transformation and strategic initiatives from planning through to implementation, taking ownership of actions and outcomes.
• Support the develop and implementation of improved operating models, processes and ways of working.
• Find opportunities for simplification, standardisation, automation and continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships across Finance, business, digital and project teams to align stakeholders and enable delivery.
• Translate complex challenges and strategic priorities into clear actions and recommendations.
• Facilitate workshops and support change, communication and adoption of new ways of working.
• Support project and investment governance, including business cases, leadership materials, value tracking and financial analysis where required.

What you will need to be successful

• Strong transformation and change experience, with a track record of delivering organisational, process or business improvement initiatives.
• An action-oriented mindset, with the ability to take ownership and turn strategy into tangible outcomes.
• Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and seniority levels.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical capability, with confidence working through ambiguity.
• Effective communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics and create alignment.
• Relevant transformation, change, project management or business improvement experience and/or qualifications.
• Finance experience, including exposure to financial modelling, business cases or investment governance, would be beneficial.
• Experience in refining, manufacturing, energy or industrial environments and relevant professional qualifications would be advantageous.

Future Location Notice: This role will start in St James' Square, London. bp has announced a planned office move to Timber Square, London, with all positions currently advertised in St James' Square, including this one, expected to relocate around Q4 2027-Q1 2028.
