The Opportunity As our new Financial Controller, you'll lead a Finance function with strong foundations already in place, so this is a role for someone who wants to elevate a great team rather than build one from scratch. Please note, this is a 12-month max-term contract. Reporting to the Co-CEO with two direct reports, you'll balance day to day financial rigour with commercial insight, and bring an AI-forward mindset to how the team reports, forecasts and works. This is a generalist role: you'll have real scope to pick up the projects that matter most, coach and develop your team, and help Atomi make sharper, faster financial decisions as we keep scaling. For this role, you can expect: Initial screen with Atomi's People Team Interview Round 1: Role fit and culture interview Interview Round 2: Technical Assessment (Asynchronous task + follow-up interview) Interview Round 3: Co-Founder interview What You'll Do Own the annual budgeting framework, drive forecasting, planning and performance analysis, and support the Co-CEOs with investor reporting, performance updates and strategic materials. Oversee day to day accounting functions, including monthly, quarterly and yearly close, accounts payable/receivable, cash management and financial reporting. Manage transactional finance, including bank approvals, treasury, contract reviews and interest rate optimisation. Build and maintain the financial policies and controls that support Atomi's growth, and look for ways AI and automation can make reporting faster, cleaner and more useful to the business. Coach and develop your two direct reports, building on a team that already has stable foundations and a clear way of working. Partner closely with stakeholders across the business to drive cost control and operational efficiency, and constructively challenge decisions with solid financial strategy. What You'll Bring to Atomi CA or CPA qualification, with deep experience across financial control and operations, ideally in a SaaS startup, tech industry or high-growth business. A track record you can speak to clearly: you're able to articulate the achievements and impact you've driven in past roles. A genuine sense of responsibility for your team, and a real interest in coaching and developing the people who report to you. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, comfortable partnering with and influencing people across all parts of the business. Exceptional analytical, modelling and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to lead budget and forecasting cycles end-to-end. An entrepreneurial, self-starting mindset that's comfortable with ambiguity, from BAU processes right through to larger strategic initiatives.
