About ACE CPAs

ACE CPAs (acecpas.com) is a fast growing, AI forward CPA and advisory firm serving US business owners across construction, medical and dental practices, SaaS, and professional services. Alongside bookkeeping and tax, we run a growing Quality of Earnings and M&A advisory practice, delivering buy side and sell side financial due diligence for business owners, private equity groups, and lenders.

We are hiring a Quality of Earnings and Financial Due Diligence Manager to lead QoE engagements from data room to final report. You will run the analysis, review the work of the team, sign off on workpapers, and own the quality of every report that leaves the firm. This role is for someone who has already managed financial due diligence engagements, not learned the work secondhand.

IMPORTANT: THIS IS A MANAGER LEVEL ROLE. PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING.

We are hiring at manager level only. This is not an entry level, associate, or senior level role, and we will not consider applications that do not meet every requirement below.

Apply only if all of the following are true:

  • You have at least 6 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years of direct QoE or financial due diligence work.
  • You have led financial due diligence engagements yourself, not only supported them.
  • You have managed a team, including reviewing the work of analysts or seniors and providing review notes.
  • You have personally built and reviewed quality of earnings adjustments and net working capital analyses.
  • You have drafted and signed off on QoE or due diligence reports delivered to clients, PE groups, or lenders.
  • You are fluent in US GAAP and comfortable working in QuickBooks Online and Desktop.
  • You hold a professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent).

Audit experience alone does not qualify. If you have worked in audit or accounting but have not led QoE or transaction due diligence engagements, please do not apply for this role. Applications without clear evidence of team leadership and direct FDD experience on the resume will not be reviewed.

What you will own

Engagement leadership

  • Lead buy side and sell side financial due diligence for corporate clients, private equity groups, and lenders.
  • Scope engagements, set timelines, and manage multiple concurrent deals to deadline.
  • Analyze quality of earnings, EBITDA adjustments, net working capital, debt and debt like items, and cash flows.
  • Identify transaction risks and communicate them clearly to clients and firm leadership.

Review and quality

  • Review workpapers prepared by analysts and seniors, and provide clear, structured review notes.
  • Ensure all workpapers are formula driven, fully supported, and built on the firm’s QoE templates.
  • Draft and finalize reports covering findings, business performance, adjustments, and transaction risks.

Team and client management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients throughout the transaction.
  • Train, coach, and develop junior team members on QoE methodology and documentation standards.
  • Coordinate with the internal accounting and tax teams, and communicate proactively by email and Zoom.
  • Contribute to improving templates, checklists, and delivery processes as the practice grows.

Requirements

  • A professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • At least 6 years in transaction advisory, financial due diligence, audit, or closely related finance work, including at least 3 years of direct QoE or FDD engagement experience.
  • Prior experience supervising and reviewing the work of a team.
  • Hands on experience building and reviewing quality of earnings adjustments and net working capital analyses.
  • Strong US GAAP knowledge.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Comfortable working in QuickBooks Online and Desktop.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to produce client ready reports.
  • Available full time during US business hours.

Preferred

  • Big 4 or national firm audit or transaction services background.
  • Experience with private equity clients and multiple concurrent deals.
  • Investment banking or strong deal experience.
  • SMB client experience in construction, medical, dental, or SaaS.
  • Comfortable using AI tools for research, drafting, and analysis.

What we value

  • Ownership from data room to final report.
  • Judgment and critical thinking over template filling.
  • Accurate, defensible numbers and clear writing.
  • Strong organization, documentation, and team leadership.

Growth and career path

This role sits at the center of a growing M&A and QoE practice. Strong performers take on larger and more complex deals, build and lead their own team, and help shape how the firm delivers transaction advisory.

Work setup

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST, with a one hour break.
  • Direct collaboration with the M&A lead and firm leadership.

Before you apply: Your resume must clearly show the deals or engagements you led, your role on each, and the size of the team you managed. Applications that do not meet all the requirements listed above will not be considered.
