Forward Deployed Cloud Engineer

£85,000-£100,000 | UK Remote | Permanent

I'm hiring for an exciting global cloud consultancy looking for client-facing Cloud Engineers who enjoy solving complex technical challenges, working directly with clients and delivering meaningful cloud transformation.

This is an opportunity to combine engineering with technical consultancy, working across different clients, technologies and projects.

What you'll be doing

• Designing, building and implementing scalable Cloud Native solutions.
• Working hands-on with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, automation and CI/CD.
• Supporting enterprise clients across cloud transformation and platform engineering initiatives.
• Collaborating with stakeholders, leading technical discussions and advising on engineering decisions.
• Helping improve engineering quality, delivery standards and team capabilities.
• Contributing to technical pre-sales and solution design where appropriate.

What we're looking for

• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker and Cloud Native engineering.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP or OpenShift.
• Infrastructure-as-Code experience using Terraform, Ansible or Crossplane.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, Argo CD or Flux.
• Scripting or programming experience with Python, Bash, Go or similar.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with clients.
• A flexible engineering mindset - adaptability matters more than specialising in every tool.

Remote working and travel

All positions are remote-based within the UK, with different client travel requirements, either:

• Travel to clients in the Netherlands for a couple of days approximately once per quarter.
• Travel to the US for the first couple of weeks of the engagement.
• UK-based clients, with occasional travel, primarily to London, potentially a couple of days per quarter.
