Founding Growth Lead — Build a New Kind of Money App

Dapperlabs

Is this job info correct?

Dapper Labs · Remote (ET–PT overlap) · Full-time · $140,000–$180,000 USD base + equity The financial system is becoming programmable. Stablecoins, tokenized treasuries, private credit, and other real-world assets are increasingly issued and used on open networks. Institutions and governments are moving first. The question is whether ordinary people get access to the upside, or simply become customers of the companies that do. We’re building a consumer gateway that turns opportunities once reserved for insiders into products regular people can actually use. Its first product puts dollars to work at a target ~10% APY through on-chain lending markets, without requiring a Bloomberg terminal, a seven-figure minimum, an accredited-investor checkbox, or fluency in a new language. It's in invite-only beta. The mechanism works. The rate is real. What doesn't exist yet is the growth engine that takes the app from its first 1,000 users toward 1 million. That's this seat. The next phase is a credit card that makes the account useful in daily life — earn, spend, and own in one place. That launch is an inflection point, and this role owns the go-to-market for it: the acquisition strategy, the brand, the creator partnerships, the lifecycle program, and the funnel from first impression to funded cardholder. Why this role exists Dapper Labs built CryptoKitties, NBA Top Shot, and Disney Pinnacle. We have come back to our venture-studio roots as a lean, AI-native team that starts new consumer products. This is our new consumer-finance bet: a gateway that makes the upside of open finance available to ordinary people, not just insiders. Tokenization makes financial products programmable, divisible, and reachable in ways they were not before. The barrier between the person with $500 and the person with $5 million was never the math; it was the access. The access is what's collapsing. Our job is to turn that change into products people can understand, trust, and use. No customer adopts a macro thesis, though: the product still has to win on a concrete advantage they can see now — a better rate, a useful card, clarity they can verify, or a combination of all three. Your job is to make this the consumer-finance app digital natives actually use — not because they care about blockchain, but because it gives them a concrete, better financial life today and a broader set of opportunities tomorrow. That happens through a growth engine you design, build, and run: paid social, creator partnerships, content, referral loops, lifecycle email, and the channel mix that actually converts for a new financial product. The card launches into a warm audience you built, not a vacuum. The number it lives on is simple: weekly funded accounts — new people who actually put money in. Not impressions, not clicks, not waitlist signups. People who showed up and funded. What you'll own Build the growth engine from scratch — the full funnel from visitor to expression of interest to signup to deposit to card activation. You instrument every stage, write the experiment briefs, and compound what works into a playbook the team can run. Lead card-launch GTM — own the acquisition strategy from pilot through general availability: who to target, what channels to use, which creator partnerships matter, and what launch sequence earns trust and activation. You own consumer pull; the technical, product, and compliance partners make the product ready to receive it. Build the brand — turn this first-product beta into the consumer gateway for open finance. Connect the larger mission to an immediate, provable reason to act; a customer should first see the rate, account, or card advantage, then understand the system that makes it possible. You define the voice, the creative, the positioning, and the narrative with the product and compliance teams. Run the experiment portfolio — every bet written down with a hypothesis, a cost, and what would prove it wrong. You build repeatable systems, not one-off wins, and you track everything against the three team KPIs: Expression of Interest, Signup Friction, Deposit Conversion. Make the case in writing — to leadership, to partners, to the team. Written argument is how anything ships here. The growth strategy doc, the channel experiment brief, the creator-outreach pitch — all yours to write. Drive creator and influencer partnerships — the finance creators, the fintech voices, the people who can make a new consumer-finance app trusted by their audiences. You find them, pitch them, and manage the relationships. What success looks like Day one: You make one thing a real customer touches measurably better. You find the sharpest point of friction in the live path to funding, ship the fix, and see evidence that it helped. The audit happens in service of the fix; it is not the milestone. Week one: You put a complete growth loop into the world — audience, message, channel, instrumented path to funding — and real people move through it. It can be a creator partnership, a lifecycle recovery flow, a referral test, or a paid experiment. The requirement is the same: it produces a funded-account result or teaches us precisely why it did not. Month one: You have built and launched the first repeatable app-acquisition motion that moves weekly funded accounts, not just generated attention. The landing experience, message, audience, channel, and measurement system are live enough to make the next product and growth decision with evidence. Month three: The app has a growth system the team can run without you standing over every step: a proven channel or loop, a clear customer message, an instrumented funnel, and product improvements that make the path to funding materially better. The eventual card enters a market you have already warmed and learned from; it is not doing the work of the app. What you bring Three things, and they're dealbreakers: You've launched a credit card. You were in the room when a card went from concept to live — you know the issuer-partner dance, the compliance constraints on card marketing, and what actually converts. Show us the card, the numbers, and your role. You've grown a consumer finance brand. You took a fintech product from unknown to trusted — through content, creator partnerships, paid social, referral loops, or whatever actually worked. Show us the brand before and after, and what you did. Extreme AI-nativeness. Not "uses ChatGPT" — you've built loops, tools, or workflows that made a growth team measurably faster, and you can walk us through them live. This is a lot of surface for one person. That's deliberate. AI collapses the old handoffs between brand, performance, lifecycle, and content — so the job is to own the whole growth outcome and direct AI as your specialist bench, not to coordinate four teams. We hold the bar high on judgment, taste, and writing precisely because that's the part AI can't do for you. These matter too — and if you don't have one yet, prove you can learn fast: Fintech regulatory fluency. You'll need to understand what you can and can't say about an open-finance product and a credit card. Compliance is a product constraint, not a legal afterthought; you need to design growth that works inside it. Performance marketing rigor. We'll teach you our experiment method — but show us you can read a funnel, find the leak, and design the test that fixes it. We don't care where you went to school or what's on your resume. We care what you've shipped and what it did. This role is not for you if… You want a playbook handed to you. The product is proven; the growth engine is yours to build — you'll invent it, test it, and throw most of it away. You need unconstrained creative freedom. We build a regulated financial product with real compliance constraints, and the craft is making growth work within them. You hear blunt, fast, direct feedback as criticism. We work at high intensity and say exactly what we think; people who thrive here treat that as fuel. You want to run brand or content without owning what it does to the numbers. Compensation $140,000–$180,000 USD base — one range, regardless of location — plus equity and an experiment budget. Remote, with ET–PT working overlap. Benefits: meaningful equity, comprehensive health coverage, flexible time off, and a remote-first setup. Dapper Labs is an equal-opportunity employer. We make hiring decisions without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. Need an accommodation during the process? Just ask. How to apply Send links to things you launched — a card, a brand campaign, a growth experiment that moved a number, a tool you built — plus a short note on one decision behind one of them. The note matters more than the resume. If we're both serious after the interviews, the centerpiece of our process is a paid work trial: design the credit-card launch GTM plan, take blunt feedback, and revise it. We pay senior rates for your time.
