Role Description The Founding Partner role at YooKatale is a contract, hybrid position based in Dubai, with flexibility for some work from home. The Founding Partner will help shape the strategic direction of the company, identify growth opportunities, and strengthen YooKatale’s presence in regional and global markets. Daily responsibilities include overseeing key business initiatives, building partnerships with investors, vendors, and community organizations, and guiding product and service development aligned with the mission of food accessibility. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, monitoring performance metrics, and ensuring that customer-centric principles are at the core of operational and strategic decisions. The Founding Partner will also contribute to fundraising efforts, governance, and high-level decision-making to support long-term organizational success.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in founding, co-founding, or leading early-stage ventures, preferably in food, agriculture, technology, or social impact sectors.
- Strong skills in business strategy, market analysis, and growth planning, with the ability to translate vision into actionable roadmaps.
- Experience in partnership development, stakeholder management, and relationship-building with investors, suppliers, and community organizations.
- Financial literacy, including budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation, and understanding of unit economics for scalable models.
- Operational management skills, including process improvement, project management, and performance tracking in hybrid (physical and digital) environments.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural context, with sensitivity to African markets and an interest in food accessibility and community impact.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills, with the capacity to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
- Comfort with digital tools, mobile platforms, and data-driven decision-making to support technology-enabled service delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Management, Economics, Entrepreneurship, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience is valued.
- Willingness to be based in Dubai in a hybrid working arrangement and to travel as needed to Uganda and other regions.
