Position: Fractional AI Transformation Advisor / Expert
Location: Singapore (Remote/Hybrid with flexibility for APAC time zones)
Commitment: Part-time / Fractional (Initially ~1 day per week for an initial 2-month phase, with potential for long-term extension into execution/pilots)
Engagement Model: Independent Consultant / Contract / Advisory
About the Client & Context
We are partnering with a boutique strategic consultancy that acts as the outsourced "strategic brain" for a listed enterprise headquartered in Singapore. The client operates in the EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation) sector for the oil and gas industry, with global operations.
The enterprise CEO (who also serves as the Chief Digital Officer) is highly digitally literate and ambitious, looking to spearhead a comprehensive, enterprise-wide AI transformation. We are seeking an expert AI advisor to help shape the multi-year AI strategic roadmap, advise leadership, and bring credible, real-world experience to the table.
Role Overview
As the AI Transformation Advisor, you will work closely with senior consultancy partners and the enterprise CEO to define what an enterprise-wide AI journey looks like over the next 2 to 3 years.
This is not a theoretical exercise or a single-use-case implementation; you will help craft an end-to-end strategy covering both:
- Internal Process Optimization: Leveraging AI across enterprise functions such as procurement, finance, HR, IT, and supply chain operations.
- Client-Facing Products & Solutions: Exploring AI applications in engineering/design simulators (e.g., 3D field development simulators) and operational technology (e.g., robotics, automated workflows).
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Advisory: Collaborate with leadership to design the overarching AI transformation blueprint and roadmap.
- Case Study & Best Practice Sharing: Bring structured, real-world case stories, "before-and-after" impact examples, and lessons learned from deploying AI at scale in corporate environments.
- Executive Engagement: Participate in strategic sessions with the CEO and executive stakeholders to present frameworks, test hypotheses, and secure buy-in for pilot initiatives.
- Phase 1 Delivery: Over an initial ~2-month advisory window (approx. 1 day/week), help structure the strategic vision and identify quick-win pilot areas (such as procurement optimization).
- Future Execution Support: Depending on project evolution and mutual fit, transition into leading or supporting the execution and rollout phase of targeted AI pilots.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience in AI at Scale: Demonstrated, hands-on experience deploying AI solutions or transformations within a corporate environment. (Industry background can be agnostic—e.g., technology, telecommunications, banking, or industrials—given the nascent maturity of enterprise AI).
- Proven Track Record in Independent Consulting & Contracting: Demonstrated history of operating as an independent consultant, fractional advisor, or specialized contractor, with the agility to manage multiple part-time advisory relationships and transition smoothly between projects.
- Consulting & Structured Problem-Solving Background: Top-tier consulting experience (ex-MBB, Tier 2, Big 4, or top strategy firms) or strong hybrid experience combining technical depth (e.g., enterprise tech/hyperscalers) with strategic advisory.
- Storytelling & Case Experience: Ability to articulate concrete "A-to-B" transformation stories, implementation hurdles, and pragmatic frameworks ("what good looks like").
- Location: Based in Singapore or the broader APAC region (comfortable with regional time zones).
- Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management and executive-presence skills, capable of engaging directly with C-suite leaders
