Fractional Sponsorship Sales Executive (Contract)

Contract Term: Immediate start through March 2027, with potential extension based on performance.

Location: Preference for New York City-based candidates, though highly qualified candidates with established national sponsorship networks will be considered regardless of location.

About HBA

The Healthcare Businesswomen's Association (HBA) is a global organization dedicated to advancing and amplifying the impact of leaders in healthcare. Through industry-leading events, leadership experiences, thought leadership, and a powerful global network, HBA connects organizations and professionals committed to advancing individuals in leadership.

Opportunity

HBA is seeking an experienced sponsorship sales executive with an established network of sponsorship buyers and decision-makers to accelerate sponsorship revenue growth across our premier events and programs.

This is not a lead generation or entry-level business development role.

We are specifically seeking a professional who already has strong relationships within sponsor organizations and can leverage those relationships to create opportunities and drive revenue immediately. Sponsorship inventory, pricing, positioning, and sales strategy have already been developed. The selected consultant's primary responsibility will be to open doors, build pipeline, and close business through their existing network.

Role Overview

The Fractional Sponsorship Sales Executive will focus exclusively on securing sponsorship revenue from organizations that are not currently engaged as HBA Corporate Partners, with a particular emphasis on expanding HBA's sponsorship footprint beyond traditional healthcare and life sciences organizations.

This individual will be responsible for introducing HBA to new industries, new buyers, and new revenue opportunities while securing sponsorships for HBA's most visible programs and events.

Responsibilities

The selected consultant will:

  • Leverage their existing network of sponsorship buyers, marketers, partnership leaders, and executive decision-makers to generate new sponsorship opportunities.

  • Develop and manage a pipeline of net-new sponsorship prospects.

  • Secure sponsorship revenue for HBA's flagship programs and events, including:

    • FIVE Powered by HBA

    • European Leadership Summit

    • Emerging sponsorship initiatives

  • Expand sponsorship participation from organizations that are not currently HBA Corporate Partners.

  • Identify and pursue sponsorship opportunities both within and outside the healthcare and life sciences sectors.

  • Sell established sponsorship inventory as well as exclusive partner designations and premium sponsorship opportunities.

  • Represent HBA professionally in sponsor-facing conversations and meetings.

  • Work closely with HBA leadership to prioritize opportunities and advance high-potential prospects through the sales process.

Target Industries

While healthcare experience is welcome, we are particularly interested in candidates with relationships across:

  • Technology

  • Consulting and Professional Services

  • Financial Services

  • Executive Search and Talent Solutions

  • Leadership Development

  • Learning and Development

  • HR Technology

  • Workforce Solutions

  • AI and Innovation

  • Business Services

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of sponsorship sales, business development, partnership sales, or related experience.

  • Demonstrated success securing sponsorship revenue through an established personal network.

  • Existing relationships with sponsorship decision-makers, marketing leaders, partnership executives, brand leaders, and event marketers.

  • Proven ability to generate revenue without being provided prospect lists.

  • Proven track record to generate sponsorships for flagship events from large known corporations

  • Experience independently originating and closing sponsorship opportunities.

  • Ability to begin opening doors and creating opportunities immediately upon engagement.

  • Strong executive presence and relationship-management skills.

Highly Desired Experience

Experience selling sponsorships, partnerships, or business development opportunities for organizations such as:

  • Fortune Most Powerful Women

  • Chief

  • Catalyst

  • Forbes

  • Fast Company

  • Reuters Events

  • SXSW

  • Cannes Lions

  • HLTH

  • ViVE

  • HIMSS

  • DIA

  • Similar conference, media, membership, or leadership organizations

Success Measures

Success in this role will be measured through:

  • Net-new sponsorship pipeline generated

  • Qualified sponsorship opportunities created

  • New sponsor relationships established

  • Sponsorship revenue secured

  • Expansion into industries not currently represented within HBA's sponsorship portfolio

  • Sponsorship commitments secured for 2027 programming

Compensation

HBA is open to a monthly retainer plus commission structure designed to attract experienced sponsorship professionals with established networks and a demonstrated track record of success.

Compensation will be tied to the candidate's ability to generate qualified opportunities and secure new sponsorship revenue.

Why This Role Exists

HBA has already developed its sponsorship inventory, pricing structure, positioning, and go-to-market strategy.

We are seeking a consultant who brings the one thing we do not currently have: an established network of sponsorship buyers and the ability to leverage those relationships to generate revenue quickly.

The ideal candidate is someone who can begin creating opportunities immediately by opening doors that would otherwise be unavailable to HBA and converting those relationships into meaningful sponsorship revenue.
