Front-End Development Tutor

The organization aims to offer accessible, high-quality training for aspiring developers across diverse backgrounds. As the initiative evolves, Ventron Nigeria plans to create a supportive, remote-first learning environment for both tutors and students.

Role Description The Front-End Development Tutor role is a remote, volunteer position focused on supporting learners as they build foundational and intermediate front-end development skills. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and delivering online lessons, creating or reviewing learning materials, and guiding learners through practical coding exercises and projects. The tutor will provide constructive feedback on assignments, answer questions via digital channels, and help learners troubleshoot common front-end issues. The role also involves collaborating with the initiative’s organizers to refine curriculum content, suggest improvements to teaching resources, and ensure that learning activities are inclusive and accessible. This position is ideal for individuals who want to contribute to the developer community and support emerging talent.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in core front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with the ability to explain concepts clearly to learners.
• Experience working with modern front-end frameworks or libraries (e.g., React, Vue, or Angular) and common tooling (e.g., version control, build tools) is beneficial.
• Prior experience teaching, mentoring, or coaching learners in technical subjects, with patience and a learner-centered approach.
• Ability to design or adapt learning materials, exercises, and projects to different skill levels, and to provide clear, actionable feedback.
• Comfort with remote collaboration tools, online communication platforms, and asynchronous support for learners.
• Strong communication skills, commitment to inclusive and non-discriminatory teaching practices, and a genuine interest in supporting learner growth.
• Relevant academic background or professional experience in software development, computer science, or related fields is an advantage but not strictly required.
