Senior / Lead Frontend Engineer (ReactJS, TypeScript)

Responsibilities

• Architecture and Technical Direction: Own frontend architecture and technical decisions across our products, and set the standards the team builds to.
• Delivery Ownership: Turn product goals into a technical plan, manage scope and risk, and be accountable for the quality of what ships.
• Team Leadership and Mentorship: Grow the team through mentoring, code review, and hiring.
• AI in Practice: Make AI a default part of how the team builds. Set the practices for working with coding agents, from context to review, and be clear about when not to use them.
• Quality and Guardrails: Hold the bar so that AI-assisted work is reviewed as rigorously as anything else, and own the data, security and quality boundaries.
• Team Capability: Use AI to widen what the team can do on its own, so engineers can take on work that used to need another specialist, and less experienced members can operate at a higher level.
• Collaboration and Communication: Partner with Product, Design and Backend to shape what gets built, not only how it gets built.
• Hands-on Engineering: Stay close to the code on the most critical or complex parts of the product.
  

Requirements

• Extensive Experience: >5 - 8 years of experience in frontend development, including >2 years leading or mentoring a frontend team.
• Strong Programming Skills: Deep expertise in TypeScript and ReactJS, with a strong grasp of programming fundamentals and design patterns.
• Architecture Ownership: Track record of owning frontend architecture on a real product, not just delivering features.
• Engineering Practices: Experience setting up the basics a team relies on: testing strategy, CI/CD, code review, release process.
• Performance and Craft: Solid experience with web performance, and an eye for UI and interaction quality.
• AI Fluency: Hands-on experience with AI coding agents, and a clear point of view on where they help and where they do not. Using AI to accelerate team performance.
• Fluent in English: Comfortable working directly with stakeholders, in both written and spoken English.
