Imperial Mandarin is a Mandarin learning center located in PIK and Puri Indah, Jakarta, supporting children in building confidence in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing Chinese. Role Description
The Full-Time Mandarin Teacher will design and deliver age-appropriate Mandarin lessons for preschool and primary students, using interactive activities, games, and structured teaching materials.
Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, teaching small groups and individual students, assessing student progress, and providing feedback to learners and caregivers. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues to align classroom practice with the centerโs curriculum and learning objectives, and contribute ideas for teaching resources and enrichment activities.
This is a hybrid role based in Jakarta, Indonesia, with teaching conducted primarily on-site at PIK and Puri Indah and selected planning or administrative tasks completed from home.
Qualifications
- Strong Mandarin teaching skills, with a focus on preschool and primary learners.
- Ability to plan engaging, structured, and age-appropriate lessons.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with children, families, and colleagues clearly and respectfully.
- Fluency in spoken and written Mandarin, with the ability to explain concepts in a learner-friendly way. Conversational English or Indonesian is an advantage.
- Relevant experience teaching Mandarin, preferably to children in early childhood or primary education settings.
- A diploma or degree in Education, Language Teaching, or a related field is preferred. Relevant teaching certifications are an advantage.
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule in Jakarta, with on-site teaching at PIK and Puri Indah.
- Cultural sensitivity and a commitment to maintaining an inclusive, encouraging classroom environment.
