What we're looking for As a Fullstack Engineer , you'll join a cross-functional team helping travellers cross borders. Sherpa° is looking for an engineer who cares deeply about crafting exceptional user interfaces that translate complex travel requirements into delightful, accessible experiences. You have a passion for building robust, scalable frontend architectures that drive business outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of code quality. You enjoy working directly with product designers, backend engineers, and product managers to architect solutions that serve millions of travellers seamlessly. You'll be working on building the most intuitive visa application platform for travel agents and visa specialists worldwide. You'll focus on creating responsive, performant applications with meticulous attention to accessibility standards and micro-interactions that elevate the user journey. Your code will serve millions of travellers monthly from 193 countries, powering visa applications for passengers of national carriers like American Airlines, Air Canada, British Airways and more. It's an exciting engineering challenge with zero tolerance for downtime. What you can expect Work closely with designers, product managers, and backend teams to architect and implement user-centric frontend solutions — working in agile sprints to deliver iterative improvements and new features. Lead the strategic transition to React for new rebuilds, ensuring architectural consistency and performance optimization. Build and maintain comprehensive design systems and reusable component libraries that ensure consistency across applications while enabling customization for diverse partner integrations. Implement and champion accessibility standards across all UI components, ensuring WCAG compliance and inclusive experiences for users regardless of ability. Optimize application performance through effective server-side rendering strategies, code splitting, and adherence to modern frontend best practices. Occasionally collaborate across the full stack to optimize API integrations and ensure seamless data flow from database to user interface. You are a good fit if you Have 5+ years of professional frontend development experience with a proven track record of building exceptional UI/UX Demonstrate strong TypeScript expertise and deep understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks and component-based architecture Have expert knowledge in React and the React ecosystem Possess a solid understanding of responsive design principles and modern CSS frameworks Show expertise in performance optimization techniques and understanding of backend concepts for effective API collaboration Have demonstrable experience implementing accessible web applications following WCAG standards Present examples of your work that showcase both technical excellence and attention to user experience details Expected skills Proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React/NextJS) Experience with design systems, component libraries, and maintaining consistency across applications Knowledge of accessibility testing tools and methodologies (a11y) Understanding of SSR and performance monitoring Familiarity with modern development workflows and tools (Nx monorepos, TailwindCSS) Experience with web animations and micro-interactions that enhance user experience Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset for cross-functional teamwork AI-enhanced development workflows while maintaining code quality and personal engineering judgment What we offer Competitive base salary Comprehensive benefits Early-stage stock options 3 weeks' vacation (Moving towards unlimited vacation plan) Flexibility to work from home or office Learning and development fund The starting base pay will depend on various factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity.
