The New School is looking for an Admission Events Graduate Assistant. Our events are designed to help prospective and admitted students and their families learn more about The New School’s academic programs, social life, and application requirements. The Admission Events Graduate Assistant provides administrative support to professional staff charged with staffing the small-, mid-, and large-scale events that comprise our recruitment yield season. Our student team assists in event planning and implementation, including setup and breakdown, check-in, and guest management. They also assist in the creation of video and/or photo production and social media campaigns in support of admission events. Assistants are also contributors to the Welcome Center Instagram account, online admitted student communities, student panels, and the development of flyers, posts, and social media stories. Although often behind-the-scenes, Admission Events Student Assistants are responsible for acting as representatives of the university, warmly welcoming all campus visitors and establishing a quality first impression online and in-person. Our team must display pride and passion for The New School, maintain up-to-date information about our academic programs, student services and consistently represent ourselves and the university in a genuine, professional, and inclusive manner. Students with a Federal Work Study Award will receive priority in hiring. Responsibilities: Event setup and breakdown Check-in attendees and guests Warmly welcome and assist prospective/newly admitted students as well as their families and supporters Conduct event materials and supply inventory Support prospective communication experience using Canvas, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and video and Photo Editing Software Qualifications: Applicants must be currently enrolled in a degree program at The New School.
