About Us & Our Mission
Based in Berlin, we are a pioneering technology company crafting essential software solutions designed to digitize rail and public transit networks. Our objective is straightforward: to transform intricate, technical operations into clear, manageable, and secure digital workflows. Today, tens of thousands of transit and logistics experts rely on our software daily to power modern public transportation.
Our work is guided by four core values: Strategic Collaboration, Engineered Precision ("Made in Germany"), Customer-Centric Innovation, and Long-Term Sustainability.
We are seeking a driven, self-starting Business Development Manager to kickstart our outbound growth engine, build meaningful industry connections, and open up new commercial avenues across Germany, Europe, and beyond.
Role Overview
This position centers around Outbound Sales Development, Strategic Networking & Market Entry, rather than standard deal-closing or account maintenance.
As our initial sales development strategist, you will have complete autonomy to design our outreach playbook, establish lines of communication with technical leaders (such as maintenance directors, chief engineers, and transit executives), and convert interest into qualified project opportunities. Executive management directly manages complex procurement processes, public tenders, and final contract executions alongside you.
Enjoy 100% remote working freedom anywhere in Germany, working directly with our 12-person software engineering team and executive founders, supplemented by regular team meetups in Berlin.
Key Responsibilities
1. Go-to-Market Strategy & Execution
- Map out and execute an agile outbound business development plan within your first six months.
- Pinpoint promising market segments, key organizational stakeholders, and expansion channels throughout Germany, Europe, and select international territories.
- Establish modern outbound workflows and set up organized CRM pipelines for effective lead tracking.
2. Direct Outreach & Relationship Management
- Initiate multi-channel outreach campaigns through phone, direct email, LinkedIn messaging, and industry networking.
- Connect directly with key figures across public transit agencies, regional railway operators, and municipal transport bodies.
- Host initial discovery calls, showcase core software benefits, and nurture genuine, long-lasting partnerships.
3. Industry Presence & Marketing Alignment
- Identify, coordinate, and attend high-impact industry expos, transit summits, and networking forums (around 2–3 key events per year).
- Partner with external design resources to draft targeted pitch decks, sales collateral, and industry-specific case studies.
- Enhance brand visibility across professional platforms like LinkedIn to build authority within the transport sector.
4. Supporting Global Expansion
- Assist in market research and business development efforts targeting European and Southeast Asian markets (including potential travel to events in hubs like Singapore, Bangkok, or New Delhi).
Requirements & Qualifications
Must-Haves
- Entrepreneurial Ownership: Demonstrated drive to build frameworks and lead initiatives independently without needing step-by-step instructions.
- Interpersonal Excellence: Outstanding communication skills—approachable, persuasive, and adept at earning trust with technical and operational managers.
- Proactive Sourcing Drive: Genuine enthusiasm for active networking, cold outreach, and continuous follow-up.
- Language Proficiency: C2 / Native-level German fluency (essential for interacting with public sector and transit bodies in Germany).
- Work Authorization: Full legal authorization to work in Germany / European Union.
Nice-to-Haves
- Direct background or familiarity with the public transport sector (ÖPNV), railway operators, or municipal utilities (e.g., Deutsche Bahn, municipal transit authorities).
- Fluent English communication skills (C1) for international events and cross-border expansion projects.
- Practical background in B2B lead generation, outbound sales development, or event coordination.
- Hands-on experience with modern CRM software, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or sales execution tools.
Key Competencies
- Proactive & Solution-Oriented: Willing to test new commercial ideas, adapt quickly, and navigate challenges creatively.
- Consultative Mindset: Capable of staying persistent, organized, and focused throughout extended sales cycles (often lasting up to 18 months).
- Tech-Savvy: Enthusiastic about understanding software features and translating them into tangible operational value for stakeholders.
What We Offer
- Pioneering Role & Growth Path: Take full ownership of our sales development strategy, with a clear blueprint to build and lead your own commercial division as the business expands.
- Complete Location Flexibility: 100% remote work within Germany, flexible working hours, and opportunities for temporary work from abroad.
- High-Impact Domain: Promote software solutions that directly support and modernize essential public infrastructure.
- Executive Visibility: Work directly with company founders in a flat, fast-moving organization where your work drives immediate results.
- Global Horizons: Potential travel to international industry events and expos across Europe and Southeast Asia.
- Empowering Perks: State-of-the-art tech setup, personal learning and development funds, and dedicated support for your ongoing professional development.
