Job Description
Job Overview
Level Up Talent Solutions is looking for a Lean-Pro Global Director - Tax to lead strategic tax operations, compliance, governance, and advisory support across multiple jurisdictions.
This role is responsible for overseeing tax audits, tax controversy, assessments, legal tax research, cross-border tax considerations, and compliance coordination with local tax consultants and advisory firms.
The ideal candidate is a senior tax leader with strong technical tax expertise, global or regional tax leadership experience, and the ability to work closely with executive stakeholders across Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Legal, HR, Operations, and other business functions.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee global or regional tax compliance activities across relevant jurisdictions
- Manage tax audits, tax controversy matters, assessments, legal tax research, and interpretation of tax laws and regulations
- Oversee India and United States tax compliance in partnership with local tax consultants and advisory firms
- Apply working knowledge of Philippine, United States, Indian, and cross-border tax requirements
- Provide strategic tax guidance to Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Legal, HR, Operations, and other business stakeholders
- Lead tax staff and geographically distributed teams, including organizational design, capability-building, and succession planning
- Support tax operating model improvements, process enhancements, and risk-control initiatives
- Prepare executive-level tax updates, recommendations, and risk insights
- Support tax-related matters connected to international expansion, compliance calendars, workflow improvements, and control frameworks
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Taxation, Law, Finance, or a related discipline
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification preferred
- Legal tax background, JD, LLM in Taxation, or comparable specialization is strongly preferred
- Minimum of 5–8 years of progressive tax experience
- At least 3–5 years of experience in a senior leadership, regional tax, or global tax role
- Demonstrated experience in tax audits, tax controversy, assessments, legal tax research, and interpretation of tax laws and regulations
- Strong experience overseeing India and United States tax compliance preferred
- Working knowledge of Philippine, United States, Indian, and cross-border tax considerations
- Proven success leading staff and geographically distributed teams
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills across multiple business functions
- Excellent executive communication, judgment, problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills
- Experience in a multinational, shared services, BPO, healthcare, or professional services environment
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, legal-entity restructuring, international expansion, or tax operating-model transformation
- Experience implementing tax technology, workflow automation, compliance calendars, and tax-control frameworks
- Knowledge of transfer pricing and tax accounting, including ASC 740
