About FOSS
At FOSS, we are driven by a strong sense of purpose, and we hope you are too. By 2030, the world population will exceed 9 billion and the middle class will have doubled. This means we will need to be outstandingly smart about our global food production. FOSS is on a mission to enable the sustainable use of the planet’s food resources, and thus to the nutrition of the people of the world. As a global market leader, we contribute through innovative food analysis, which is used to secure food quality, reduce waste, and optimize food production. If that sounds like something you’d like to be a part of, read on!
What you will be doing
As our new Global NIR Product Specialist, you will become the go-to application expert for FOSS NIR solutions within its different segments. You will understand the total solution – hardware, software and digital solutions – and use that knowledge to help customers get the full value of their instruments, working through our global network of FOSS and distributor colleagues in a service organization spanning 28 countries.
You will join Technical Product Management in Global Support, based at our headquarters in Hillerød, Denmark, and report to Product management Technical Director. Troubleshooting complex cases and answering application and calibration inquiries will be at the heart of your day, and you will work closely with Product Managers and fellow specialists to solve them. You will also help shape the next generation of FOSS products by contributing to new product development projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Act as 2nd-line support on escalated customer cases – from application and calibration inquiries to instruments, software and FOSS digital products – troubleshooting complex issues systematically
- Help our sales and service organizations understand the role of FOSS solutions in customers’ processes, and plan and run trainings for service, sales and distributors – in the classroom, online or as e-learning
- Contribute to New Product Development (NPD) projects by supporting Product Managers and writing user requirement specifications, based on how the current portfolio performs
- Create and maintain application notes, user manuals and quick guides, making sure technical updates are reflected in the documentation
What we hope to see you bring
To succeed in this role, we imagine that you combine a solid technical foundation with genuine curiosity about how analytical solutions create value in our customers’ daily operations.
We hope to see you bring:
- An MSc in engineering, analytical chemistry, food science, chemometrics, life science or a related field – recent graduates are very welcome
- Familiarity with NIR, FTIR or other spectroscopic methods for food analysis, and a broad understanding of hardware, software and analytical solutions
- Experience from complex, cross-functional projects in a multicultural setup
- Hands-on experience using AI in your daily work
As a person, you are customer-oriented, systematic in your approach to problem-solving and a true team player. You communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken.
It is a plus if you bring experience from the food or agri industry, knowledge of grain, feed, meat or dairy processing, or hands-on chemometrics such as PCA and PLS regression.
Why choose FOSS?
You will join a Product Management team of around 40 people in Hillerød, Denmark and Suzhou, China. Together, we are responsible for product management, training our service engineers globally, and supporting customers and service engineers with technical issues. You will be surrounded by super knowledgeable colleagues in a great team atmosphere, where we strive to act as one team – regardless of location, background and role.
We offer an interesting and challenging job in an international, informal environment with a strong focus on customer support. There is plenty of room for your own drive and responsibility, and we celebrate success as a team. And as part of a family-owned company that has pioneered analytical technology since 1956, you will see your work make a real difference to food quality and resource use around the world.
