Google Ads Specialist (PPC + Local Services Ads) — Fully Remote

We're looking for a seasoned Google Ads specialist who treats every client budget like it's their own money. Not a button-pusher. Not someone who needs a checklist to know what to do next. Someone who opens an account, sees what's broken in the first ten minutes, and already has a plan to fix it.

This is not an entry-level role and we won't train you on the fundamentals. You'll own a bunch of PPC and Google Local Services Ads accounts, and you'll be the person in the room who says "that's not the right move, and here's what the data says we should do instead" to clients, and to our own account managers. If you know where to look when campaigns struggle, and love solving the puzzle when you get stuck, this might be the crew for you.

If you've been the strongest media buyer on your team and you're tired of having your recommendations ignored, keep reading.

About Mammoth Marketing

Mammoth Marketing is a full-service, fully remote marketing agency. Our multicultural team spans Account Management, Graphics, Web, Media Buying, and Fulfillment.

We document how we work, we fix problems at the root instead of patching them, and we expect our specialists to bring ideas to the table, not just execute tickets.

What You'll Own

  • Full account ownership. Build, launch, manage, and scale Google Search, Performance Max, Display, and YouTube campaigns, from account structure and keyword strategy to bidding, budgets, and ad copy.
  • Google Local Services Ads (GLSA). Set up and optimize LSA profiles, manage lead disputes, coach clients on review generation and responsiveness, and make LSA a real lead driver instead of a set-and-forget channel.
  • Proactive optimization. Spot wasted spend, conversion leaks, and growth opportunities before the client or AM asks. You don't wait for the monthly report to find out something is wrong.
  • Client advocacy. Recommend what's actually best for the client's business, even when it means a smaller budget, a different channel, or telling them their landing page is the real problem.
  • Push back with data. When an Account Manager or client requests something that will hurt performance, you say so clearly and professionally, explain why, and propose a better path.
  • Tracking and measurement. Own conversion tracking integrity: GA4, Google Tag Manager, call tracking, offline conversion imports, and lead-quality feedback loops. If the data is wrong, the strategy is wrong.
  • Strategy, not just reporting. Translate performance into plain-language insights and next steps that AMs and clients can act on.
  • Stay ahead. Test new features, betas, and AI-driven campaign types early, and bring back what works so the whole team gets better.

Who You Are (Requirements)

  • 3+ years of hands-on Google Ads management, with agency experience strongly preferred. You've managed multiple accounts at once and know how to prioritize.
  • Proven GLSA experience. You've set up, managed, and optimized Local Services Ads for service businesses (home services, legal, or similar).
  • CRO instincts. you can look at a landing page and tell us exactly why it isn't converting.
  • A track record you can show. You can walk us through real accounts where you lowered CPA, improved lead quality, or scaled spend profitably, with numbers.
  • Deep platform fluency. Smart bidding, match types, negative keyword strategy, PMax asset groups, audience signals, Quality Score levers, and when not to trust Google's recommendations.
  • Tracking competence. Comfortable in GA4 and Google Tag Manager and able to diagnose broken conversion tracking without a developer.
  • Confident communicator. You can disagree with an Account Manager or client respectfully and directly, and you back your position with data, not opinion.
  • Ownership mindset. You don't need to be told twice, you follow documented processes, and you raise your hand when something is off.
  • Google Ads certification (Search required; additional certifications a plus).
  • Strong written English and comfort working asynchronously with a multicultural, fully remote team.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with Microsoft Ads or Meta Ads, so you can speak to cross-channel strategy.
  • Experience with the Callrail platform and lead qualification.
  • Comfort with Google Ads scripts, Looker Studio dashboards, or automated rules.
  • Experience with CRM or offline conversion integrations (e.g., HighLevel, call tracking platforms).

*

  • Experience mentoring junior specialists or documenting SOPs.

This Role Is Not for You If

  • You're new to Google Ads or still learning the fundamentals.
  • You prefer to be told exactly what to do and when.
  • You accept every Google recommendation without questioning it.
  • You'd rather keep quiet than tell an Account Manager their idea won't work.
  • You measure success by clicks and impressions instead of leads and revenue.

What We Offer

  • Fully remote, with a team that collaborates across time zones and cultures.
  • A real voice. Your recommendations shape client strategy, and we want you to challenge us.
  • Ownership over your accounts and the autonomy to run them the right way.
  • Clear expectations through EOS: defined accountabilities, measurable goals, and regular 1:1s.
  • Room to grow as we expand our Google service offerings.
