About the Company
Our client is expanding its Governance, Risk & Assurance (GRA) function and is looking to hire an ambitious, experienced professional to join the growing team.
The team provides internal audit, risk management, compliance and broader advisory services to a diverse client base across regulated and not-for-profit sectors (including member-owned financial institutions, insurance intermediaries, charities and other organisations).
You will work across a varied portfolio, playing a key role in delivering engagements end-to-end—from planning through fieldwork to reporting. Working closely with clients and the wider team, you will assess governance arrangements, risk and internal controls, and provide practical, value-added recommendations.
The role also offers opportunities to support and develop junior colleagues, contribute to business development initiatives and help grow the service offering. The firm offers a supportive, collaborative culture, hybrid working and strong opportunities for career progression and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver internal audit, risk management, compliance and consultancy assignments across a diverse client portfolio.
- Manage engagements from planning and fieldwork through to reporting and presenting findings.
- Assess governance frameworks, risk management, internal controls and regulatory compliance, providing practical recommendations for improvement.
- Prepare high-quality workpapers and reports, presenting outcomes to senior management and governance forums (e.g., Audit Committees / Boards).
- Support, coach and develop junior team members, contributing to technical training and development.
- Contribute to business development activity and the continued growth of the GRA service offering.
Experience / Requirements
- Relevant experience in governance, risk, compliance, internal audit or a related professional services/assurance environment.
- Strong knowledge of legislation, regulatory requirements and governance frameworks, ideally within financial services or another regulated setting.
- A recognised financial services qualification is desirable; candidates without it must be willing to obtain it (full support provided).
- Strong technical capability, report-writing and communication skills, including the ability to present findings to senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage client engagements, prioritise deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
- Experience supporting, coaching or mentoring junior colleagues.
- Strong attention to detail, a practical approach to problem-solving and an interest in helping grow the team.
