About the Role
As Group Finance BI & Analytics Lead at Polygon Group, you will take ownership of the Group’s Finance Analytics area and help shape how data, Power BI and reporting are used to improve business performance. Working at the intersection of Finance, Operations and Business Intelligence, you will turn financial and operational data into actionable insights and help the organisation translate those insights into concrete improvements.
The role is part of a newly established Group FP&A and Performance Management team. You will be responsible for driving the Analytics agenda forward, setting direction for the continued development of Power BI and reporting solutions, and helping establish effective ways of working across the Group. A central part of the role is Performance Management. By analysing financial and operational data, you will identify trends and performance drivers, highlight improvement opportunities and work with stakeholders to translate insights into actions in the business.
This is neither a traditional controller position nor a purely technical BI role. It combines financial analysis and business understanding with hands-on work involving data, Power BI and reporting. You will also lead and set the direction for external BI resources, ensuring that solutions are technically sound and address genuine business needs.
You will also play an important role in shaping how AI can be applied within Finance Analytics and reporting, helping the organisation identify opportunities to automate processes, generate insights and improve decision-making.
Joining Polygon at this stage offers a significant opportunity to influence and shape how the Group works with Analytics, Power BI, AI and reporting. The environment is evolving, and you will have the freedom to help define priorities, develop solutions and improve ways of working within the team and across the wider organisation.
The position is based at Polygon Group’s headquarters in Stockholm and reports to the Head of Group FP&A and Performance Management. Polygon applies a hybrid working model, with three days per week at the office. International travel may occur based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
You will own and drive the Group’s Finance Analytics agenda, helping establish the direction, priorities and ways of working for the area. By combining financial analysis, business understanding and data-driven insights, you will identify performance drivers, uncover improvement opportunities and translate findings into clear recommendations and actions.
A key part of the role is leading the continued development of Power BI dashboards, management reporting and analytical tools. Working hands-on with data, you will help translate business needs into effective reporting and analytics solutions.
Working closely with Finance, Operations and stakeholders across Europe, you will support country organisations in using data and insights to improve performance and decision-making. The role includes regular interaction with country CFOs, CEOs and other business leaders across the Group.
You will also lead and provide direction to external BI consultants, challenging proposed solutions and ensuring that their work supports Polygon’s business needs as well as the longer-term Analytics agenda.
In addition, you will help drive the Group’s AI agenda within Finance Analytics and reporting, identifying opportunities for automation, testing new solutions and supporting the adoption of AI-enabled ways of working that create tangible business value.
Qualifications
You likely have a background within FP&A, Business Control, Finance Analytics, Performance Management or a related area combining finance, data and business analysis. Whether you currently work in industry or consulting, you are attracted by the opportunity to take ownership of an area while remaining close to both the data and the business.
Experience from financial analysis and reporting has given you the ability to translate data into actionable insights and recommendations. You enjoy understanding what drives business performance and are comfortable working with topics such as profitability, performance management and business reporting.
A solid understanding of Power BI, reporting solutions and data models is important. While you do not need to be a specialist BI developer, you should be comfortable working hands-on with data and Power BI, evaluating solutions and discussing technical choices with BI specialists and external partners.
Experience from driving projects, analytical initiatives or business improvements involving multiple stakeholders is important. This experience may have been gained in an in-house role or within a consulting environment. The role is well suited for someone who is looking to take the next step in their career by combining Finance, Analytics and Business Intelligence in an international environment.
A university degree in Finance, Business Administration, Engineering or another relevant field is expected. Experience from construction, construction services, facility management or another project-driven and operationally intensive service business is considered advantageous.
Fluency in English is required, as this is an international role with extensive interaction across the Group. Swedish is beneficial but not mandatory. You must already have the right to work in Sweden, as relocation sponsorship is not available for this position.
Personal Qualities
To succeed in this role, you are analytical, commercially minded and curious about what the data can reveal. You enjoy moving between detailed analysis and the broader business perspective and are motivated by turning insights into practical improvements.
You bring energy, initiative and a strong sense of ownership. You are comfortable taking the lead within your area, setting direction and moving initiatives forward, while remaining collaborative and open to different perspectives.
As the team and many of its processes are still being developed, you thrive in an environment where not everything is already in place. You are pragmatic, solution-oriented and comfortable balancing hands-on work with the coordination of stakeholders and external resources.
You communicate clearly and confidently and are able to build constructive relationships with stakeholders at different levels of the organisation. You also contribute to a collaborative, open and positive team environment.
