Growth Solutions Principal, Financial Services

Help build Workiva’s presence in banking regulatory reporting. As Principal, Growth Solution, Financial Services, you will bring deep banking regulatory-reporting expertise to a new growth opportunity for Workiva. You will work directly with early customers to understand how Workiva can deliver a differentiated solution.

This is not a traditional reporting-operations role or a purely strategic market-research role. You will combine hands-on customer delivery with product and market shaping, partnering with Product, Solutions Development Consulting, Sales, Presales, Product Marketing, and Customer Success to turn early customer insight into a scalable offering.

You will be a foundational domain leader in an emerging market: helping establish credibility with financial institutions, prove customer value, influence product direction, and create the playbook that enables Workiva to grow in banking regulatory reporting

What you’ll do

Scope

• Operate as a Growth Solutions Principal, evaluating emerging market opportunities and helps Workiva expand our addressable market with an initial focus on banking regulatory reporting.

• Contribute deep financial services and banking domain knowledge to evaluate solutions and validate business cases in early market efforts.

• Partner across cross-functional teams (Product, Consulting, Sales, Presales, Product Marketing, Customer Success) to establish credibility and differentiate Workiva.

• Provide hands-on guidance to early adopter customers on data mappings and workflows required for filings, using delivery experience to inform expansion strategy.

Problem Solving

• Navigate ambiguous problems inherent to entering new markets and evaluating solution viability.
• Apply innovative techniques to develop early solutions for banking regulatory reporting, including forms, data mapping approaches, and workflow design that don't yet have a proven playbook internally
• Solve critical customer onboarding and technical integration issues to determine whether the market opportunity warrants further investment.

Discretion and Impact

• Directly influence early customer filing success, generating evidence to support long-term investment and expansion strategy.
• Inform cross-functional product and delivery roadmaps based on direct implementation insights and domain knowledge.

Collaboration and Interaction

• Collaborate extensively across Product, Solutions Development Consulting, Sales, Presales, Product Marketing, and Customer Success teams.
• Serve as a trusted domain expert for early adopter customers during presales engagement , hands-on delivery support and to product development to ensure Workiva delivers a world class solution for regulatory reporting on our platform.

Autonomy

• Exercise high latitude and independence in establishing Workiva in new markets based on broad strategic objectives.
• Combine tactical delivery guidance with strategic evaluation to prove out early financial services solutions.

What You’ll need

Min Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 6 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Recognized as a subject matter expert in financial services and banking regulatory reporting.
• Possess deep domain knowledge of regulatory filing workflows and data mapping requirements.
• Deep understanding of end-to-end regulatory filing processes.
• Knowledge of core banking products and data domains relevant to regulatory reporting, including loans, deposits, securities, derivatives, capital, liquidity, and general ledger or finance data.
• Experience delivering customer-facing implementations, consulting engagements, pilots, or solution-validation efforts involving banking regulatory reporting technology.
• Experience gathering customer feedback and implementation insights, identifying recurring market needs, and translating findings into product, delivery, and go-to-market recommendations.
• Strong consultative communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to build credibility with senior finance, regulatory reporting, risk, data, and technology leaders.
• Experience operating effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where requirements, product capabilities, and go-to-market approaches are still evolving.

Travel & Work Environment

• Up to 25% travel.
• Remote work requires reliable high-speed internet.

How You’ll Be Rewarded

✅ Salary range in the US: $169,000.00 - $295,000.00

✅ A discretionary bonus typically paid annually

✅ Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire

✅ 401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits package
