Guidewire Solutions Architect

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Guidewire Architect to lead high-impact transformation programs involving Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge across Guidewire platforms, strong client engagement capabilities, and the ability to drive architecture strategy, design patterns, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the solution architect for large-scale Guidewire engagements (implementation, upgrade, cloud migration).

• Define end-to-end architecture strategy aligned with carrier business goals.

• Provide architectural leadership across Guidewire Digital, Cloud (GKE, AWS), and DevOps pipelines.

• Lead Guidewire configuration and integration strategy for core systems (Policy, Billing, Claims).

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and SI partners to define functional and technical requirements.

• Oversee design of custom integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, Kafka, Mulesoft, etc.).

• Mentor development teams and perform code/design reviews to ensure scalability and performance.

• Drive decision-making on key architecture topics such as data model extensions, event messaging, security, and scalability.

• Participate in pre-sales discussions and support RFPs with solutioning expertise when required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of overall experience in insurance IT, with 5+ years as a Guidewire Architect.

• Deep understanding of Guidewire Digital, Integration, and Configuration layers.

• Strong command of Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and/or ClaimCenter (v10+ preferred).

• Proficiency in GOSU, Java, web services (REST/SOAP), cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), and CI/CD tooling.

• Experience with Guidewire Cloud Platform (GCP/GKE) architecture and migration strategy is highly preferred.

• Experience with Guidewire accelerators and best practices.

• Proven track record of working with US, UK, or Canadian P&C insurance carriers.

• Excellent client-facing communication and documentation skills.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to Have

• Guidewire certifications (ACE, Specialist, CloudReady)

• Experience working with global SIs such as PwC, EY, Zensar, Cognizant, or equivalent

• Hands-on experience with Kafka, Mulesoft, or other integration middleware

• Prior exposure to agile delivery environments
