About this role

Compound Foundation is seeking a Head of Growth to build, lead, and scale our global growth organization. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this is a high impact leadership role responsible for driving Compound's next phase of growth, institutional adoption, strategic partnerships, and ecosystem expansion.

We are looking for a leader, operator, and dealmaker with a proven track record of scaling high-performing growth organizations from the ground up. The ideal candidate combines DeFi and institutional growth experience, strong business development skillsets, and the ability to translate ambitious growth strategies into measurable business outcomes.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines strategic thinking with practical execution. You’ll have the opportunity to shape Compound’s growth strategy, build and develop a strong partnership pipeline, collaborate across teams, and work directly with key partners to drive meaningful business outcomes.

What you’ll do

• Own Compound's Growth Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy focused on accelerating institutional adoption, expanding distribution, growing protocol TVL, and increasing lending and borrowing activity.

• Drive Strategic Partnerships: Originate, negotiate, and close high-impact partnerships with institutional investors, custodians, exchanges, wallets, fintech platforms, and asset managers with the support of the rest of the leadership team.

• Build and Execute the Growth Pipeline: Establish and manage a disciplined, data-driven BD pipeline from prospecting through execution. Drive clear accountability, pipeline visibility, conversion metrics, and measurable outcomes.

• Expand Institutional Distribution: Establish Compound as the preferred institutional lending infrastructure network by embedding its products into leading financial platforms and building long-term commercial relationships.

• Own Growth Performance: Define and deliver ambitious growth targets and KPIs, including TVL, borrowing volume, active institutional partners, revenue, and partnership-driven adoption.

• Collaborate Across the Organization: Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Risk to translate market opportunities into product priorities and successful GTM execution.

Requirements

• 10+ years of track record of building, scaling, and leading a growth or business development organization from scratch, with measurable success in driving significant business growth.

• Strong understanding of institutional sales cycle, DeFi ecosystem, onchain lending and borrowing, liquidity markets, token incentives, and the broader crypto ecosystem.

• Proven ability to independently originate, structure, negotiate, and close complex, high-value strategic partnerships.

• Established network and experience developing institutional partnerships across traditional finance, digital asset custodians, asset managers, banks, exchanges, and fintech platforms.

• Deep familiarity with lending markets, institutional credit, stablecoins, tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), and onchain financial infrastructure.

• Entrepreneurial self-starter who thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and can build organizational capabilities while executing directly.

• Experience managing and scaling high-performing teams with a strong culture of ownership, personnel growth, accountability, and execution.

• Ability to build and manage growth pipelines, establish performance metrics, evaluate commercial opportunities and profitability, and consistently deliver against ambitious targets.

• Outstanding communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage founders, C-suite executives, institutional decision-makers, and ecosystem leaders.

Qualifications

• Prior leadership experience at a high-growth DeFi protocol, crypto infrastructure company, institutional digital asset platform, or financial technology business.

• Experience scaling a protocol or platform through strategic distribution partnerships, embedded financial products, or B2B2C business models.

• Experience designing and executing ecosystem incentives, liquidity acquisition strategies, and sustainable token-driven growth programs.

• Strong existing relationships across the DeFi ecosystem, institutional crypto market, and global financial services industry.
