Shape how audiences discover, engage with and build lasting relationships with Sky News. As Head of Audience – Digital, you’ll lead the strategy for audience growth, engagement and conversion across our digital platforms, connecting editorial judgement, audience insight and commercial awareness to create distinctive, video-first experiences.

What you’ll do:

  • Own the digital audience growth, engagement and conversion strategy, defining a clear end-to-end journey across owned and third-party platforms.
  • Set priorities across discovery, acquisition, engagement, habit, registration, conversion and retention, balancing immediate platform performance with long-term audience value.
  • Translate audience needs into video-first propositions, content journeys, curation standards and platform priorities that strengthen frequency, loyalty and subscriber value.
  • Provide senior editorial leadership for the presentation, curation and distribution of Sky News content across digital platforms, while maintaining trust, editorial and brand standards.
  • Use performance data, behavioural insight, testing and audience feedback to drive continuous improvement and turn learning into practical editorial and product action.
  • Lead, develop and motivate platform specialists, setting clear priorities and building a collaborative, audience-focused culture centred on editorial excellence and experimentation.

Essential Criteria:

  • ·Significant senior experience in digital news, publishing, audience development, product-led media or a closely related environment.
  • ·Deep understanding of digital audience journeys, from discovery and acquisition through to engagement, registration, conversion and retention.
  • ·Excellent editorial judgement, with the ability to deliver a premium, video-first content mix and audience experience.
  • ·Proven ability to translate audience insight, performance data, testing and feedback into clear strategic and operational decisions.
  • ·Experience shaping digital propositions, content journeys, curation approaches or platform strategies across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills, with commercial awareness and the ability to balance reach, engagement, loyalty and subscriber value.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of registration, membership or subscription propositions in a news or media organisation.
  • Experience of product development and using audience research to shape digital experiences.
  • Understanding of audience value, lifecycle measurement and churn analysis.
  • Experience managing a portfolio spanning owned platforms and major third-party platforms.
