About Origina
Origina is a rapidly growing global challenger technology company on a mission to stop unnecessary technology change by helping enterprises to extend, protect and enhance their software assets. We believe organizations should be free to run their systems for as long as they choose - without being pushed into costly, unwanted upgrades that don’t align with their strategy, so we step in to provide an alternative from the original vendor.
We’re scaling fast, with a clear path to €0.5 billion in the next five years, and expanding our presence across Europe, the US, and Australia. As a leading force in independent enterprise software support, we help the world’s largest organizations take back control of their technology roadmap and unlock genuine commercial freedom.
If you’re energized by growth, excited by change, and motivated to help customers challenge long-standing industry norms, this is the team to join. At Origina, you’ll be part of a bold, fast-moving global business where your impact will be felt immediately.
The Role
The Head of Business Development manages the first interaction that prospective customers have with Origina. The team is comprised of tenacious, curious, positive and creative individuals dedicated to outstanding achievement and success for themselves, the Sales team and the company. Origina is looking for self-motivated, flexible, team-oriented and creative team leader looking to further build their career in Sales and people management. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing our business development efforts to drive revenue growth and market expansion in the Americas. The expectation is you will sit as a member of the North America leadership team, and drive the agenda for all pipeline development efforts.
This role is office based, in Plano Texas, with an expectation of 3 days per week in the office.

- Exhibiting a proactive approach in identifying and developing new business opportunities, both through channel partners and direct end-user outreach
- Prospecting, qualifying, and nurturing leads to build a healthy pipeline of potential customers, by orchestrating digital campaigns, attending events and working on critical partnerships
- Innovate the sales process at Origina through intelligent use of technology and automation to improve efficiency and effectivity of our outreach.
- Co-ordinating with and providing feedback to the Sales and Channel team members on lead generation successes and suggested improvements
- Identifying and targeting greenfield accounts (new, untapped opportunities) in key industries and verticals
- Developing and implementing strategies to penetrate accounts, establishing Origina as a trusted provider for software support solutions
- Collaborating with internal teams such as marketing, product, and support to ensure a seamless and effective partner experience
- Working closely with the sales team to develop joint go-to-market strategies for partner-led initiatives
- Staying current with market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs

Leadership & People Development
- Lead, coach and develop a team of five Business Development Managers, with accountability for team performance, engagement and development.
- Establish clear objectives, performance expectations and a consistent management rhythm through regular coaching, feedback and performance reviews.
- Oversee onboarding and ramp-up of new hires, ensuring structured development and measurable milestones.
- Foster a high-performing, accountable and collaborative team culture, maximising opportunities for in-person coaching, learning and development.
About You
- Proven experience in business development, outbound sales or lead generation, ideally within the technology sector.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience, with the ability to coach, motivate and drive team performance.
- Strong commercial acumen, consultative selling skills and experience developing new business opportunities.

- Results-driven, adaptable and proactive, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Willingness to travel occasionally and a commitment to Origina's values of Trust, Fairness, Relationships and Opportunity.
We see time together in our Plano office as an important part of setting you up for success. Particularly during onboarding and ramp-up, we want you to spend meaningful time alongside the team - absorbing their knowledge, getting close to our proposition and customers, collaborating in person and being present for the conversations that matter. As you get established, our hybrid model provides the flexibility to balance time in the office with being out in the market.
Experience in a start-up, scale-up or high-growth technology environment is an advantage, as is experience selling technology services or enterprise software. Knowledge of IBM, HCL, VMware or the broader enterprise software ecosystem is also beneficial.
Don't meet all the requirements? If you feel you'd be a great fit, we'd love to hear from you. At Origina, the most important ingredient is culture fit and recognising those who want to live our high-performance values of Fairness, Trust, Relationships, and Opportunities.
