The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in commercial strategy, business growth, strategic planning, and revenue optimization, preferably within Fintech, Payments, Digital Financial Services, or high-growth B2C digital businesses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the overall commercial and growth strategy aligned with Axis's business objectives, translating annual and quarterly priorities into actionable execution roadmaps.

  • Develop business cases, financial models, and feasibility assessments to support strategic commercial decisions and identify new opportunities, customer segments, and multi-product expansion initiatives.

  • Develop, execute, and optimize comprehensive pricing strategies and monetization frameworks for both existing products and upcoming product launches.

  • Identify and evaluate revenue growth, market penetration, customer acquisition efficiency, and business profitability through data-driven strategies.

  • Drive ecosystem cross-selling, lifetime value (LTV) expansion, and cohort retention across product verticals to maximize customer lifetime value and engagement.

  • Focus on sustainable unit economics, optimizing CAC/LTV payback efficiency, margins, and overall business profitability through data-driven performance reviews and KPI tracking.

  • Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, customer behavior, and industry developments to identify strategic opportunities and potential risks.

  • Partner with the Acquisition, Retention, Monetization, and Partnerships teams to align commercial initiatives with overall growth objectives.

  • Partner closely with Finance on commercial budgets, revenue forecasts, and projections, while working alongside Product, Technology, Data, Marketing, and Operations to execute go-to-market strategies.

  • Lead annual and quarterly commercial planning, translating strategic priorities into actionable initiatives, measurable targets, and execution roadmaps.

  • Evaluate the financial and commercial impact of growth initiatives, ensuring effective resource allocation and sustainable returns.

  • Identify opportunities to improve commercial efficiency, optimize business processes, and strengthen cross-functional execution.

  • Lead strategic projects and transformation initiatives that contribute to Axis's growth and competitive positioning.

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Commercial & Growth Strategy team, establishing clear objectives, accountability, and performance standards.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience in Commercial Strategy, Growth Strategy, Business Strategy, Strategic Planning, Management Consulting, or Business Development, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.

  • Proven experience in Fintech, Payments, Financial Services, or high-growth digital businesses.

  • Strong expertise in commercial planning, growth modeling, business case development, market analysis, and strategic execution.

  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including revenue forecasting, profitability analysis, pricing strategies, and business performance management.

  • Proven ability to identify growth opportunities, evaluate business investments, and develop actionable go-to-market strategies.

  • Experience working with commercial KPIs, customer acquisition metrics, retention economics, and revenue performance dashboards.

  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and execution capabilities.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage strategic initiatives and develop high-performing teams.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Management, Engineering or a related field. An MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
