About the role

As Head of Data & Business Transformation, you’ll lead the next stage of The INKEY List’s growth through data, technology and AI. You’ll bring together Data, Business Systems and IT to simplify how the business works, improve decision-making and create scalable foundations for growth.

A major focus will be moving AI from experimentation into practical business transformation. You’ll lead the Microsoft 365 Copilot rollout, establish the operating model for agents and automation, and work with leaders across the business to redesign processes, improve productivity and deliver measurable value.

You’ll lead a capable internal team, working alongside an established IT managed service provider and specialist partners. Your focus will be on setting direction, putting the right governance in place, driving change and building internal capability, rather than delivering every technical task yourself.

What you’ll be doing

AI & Business Transformation

Move AI from experimentation into governed, valuable ways of working across the business.

• Shape and deliver the enterprise AI and automation strategy, focused on high-value business problems.

• Partner with business leaders to redesign processes and embed AI into everyday ways of working.

• Lead the Microsoft 365 Copilot rollout, including adoption, training and value realisation.

• Establish the operating model for agents and automation, including Copilot Studio agents, Fabric data agents and agentic workflows, with clear ownership, permissions, human controls and monitoring.

• Enable governed innovation across the business, with business process owners accountable for requirements, source data, controls, adoption and realised benefits.

Data, Analytics & Decision-Making

Build trusted data foundations and make governed insight easier to access and act upon.

• Set the direction for Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and enterprise reporting, including governed self-service analytics.

• Ensure trusted metrics and reliable data products, with clear ownership of data quality.

• Develop conversational and agent-enabled access to governed business data.

• Build data and AI literacy so teams can confidently interpret and act on insight.

Business Systems & Scalable Operations

Make core systems and processes simpler, smarter and scalable for growth.

• Set clear ownership for delivery, with the internal team leading day-to-day work across Fabric and BI, business systems and IT operations.

• Own the strategic roadmap for core business systems, integrations, EDI and operational platforms.

• Guide major implementations and integrations through clear business ownership and governance.

• Use systems, automation and AI together to simplify processes and reduce manual work.

• Ensure technology investment supports growth and resilience, as well as an effective customer and employee experience.

IT Service, Security & Partnership

Provide effective oversight of technology services, security, resilience and external delivery partners.

• Lead the IT Administrator and oversee technology services across the business.

• Govern Microsoft 365, Power Platform, access, devices and core infrastructure so they are appropriately supported.

• Maintain oversight of cybersecurity and business continuity, including material technology risk.

• Manage The Final Step as the IT managed service provider, with clear expectations for service, security, resilience and continuous improvement.

• Use external partners for managed services and specialist delivery where this is more effective than building every capability internally.

Leadership, Portfolio & Value

Set clear priorities, develop capability and ensure investment translates into measurable business value.

• Own direction, transformation, prioritisation, governance and value across the combined portfolio.

• Lead and develop the internal Data, Systems and IT team, with clear priorities, accountability and supported development milestones.

• Own the integrated roadmap, budget and portfolio across data, systems, IT and AI.

• Manage strategic partners, licensing and consumption, supporting sound investment decisions.

• Communicate opportunities, risks and trade-offs clearly to senior leaders and track measurable business value.

What we’re looking for

You’ll likely have:

• Leadership experience across technology, data or business systems, with a record of delivering meaningful business change rather than only technology projects.

• Experience leading AI and automation capability, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, Power Platform, agents or comparable enterprise tools.

• Credibility across modern data platforms and analytics, integrations and core business applications.

• Experience leading a small internal team and managing partners, including managed-service and specialist providers.

• Strong commercial judgement across roadmaps, budgets, suppliers, licensing and investment cases.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to turn complex technology into practical business choices and bring people through change.

• Experience in consumer goods, retail or eCommerce, or another fast-paced, multi-channel environment, would be advantageous.
